We’re not even in the conversation. Ohio State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and USC are tied for most trophies at seven each.

Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, and Oklahoma have 7 heismans so no.

With that being said this adds a lot to our rich tradition. Daniels performance also probably got us Bryce Underwood knock on wood.

You know another SEC West also has 2 in between right?

2 Ohio State and 1 Notre Dame in the last 40 years. USC and Oklahoma, though, 4 each in the last 20.

No.

With that said, I also don't agree with those who cite purely to historical totals.

Notre Dame - 1943, 1947, 1949, 1953, 1956, 1964, 1987
Oklahoma - 1952, 1969, 1978, 2003, 2008, 2017, 2018
USC - 1965, 1968, 1979, 1981, 2002, 2004, 2005 (frick the NCAA), 2022
Ohio State - 1944, 1950, 1955, 1974, 1975, 1995, 2006

BCS era and later winners bolded. To me, Oklahoma and USC clearly have the best claims leaving ND and OSU mostly relegated to history, which simply isn't what people are talking about when they say "(insert term here) U". And if you want to have a heavy modern slant:

Alabama - 2009, 2015, 2020, 2021

LSU - 1959, 2019, 2023*

Does a win this year further legitimize LSU it put us in the conversation if we have another winner in the next half decade? Sure. But it doesn't even approach crowning us now.
