re: When is the last time an LSU QB was not injured during the course of a season?

I like Lee on 3rd and 4+, Jefferson on #rd and 3. Also, a qb that can tuck it and get a first down, changes what a dcoord will call. With JLee in game Muschamp/Saban types will blitz like crazy, with JJ not so much.
If we bring JJ in every time we have 3rd and 3 or less, we are screwed. Talk about screwing up the rhythm of the offense, not to mention the psyche of Lee knowing that every short yardage 3rd down, he's got to be looking over his shoulder.

Who determined this? Just asking because Mett has looked solid (given it's a limited sample size) and you can't just erase JJ's past performance.
Reread the whole sentence smart guy, especially that word IF at the beginning.

hey, numbnut, my post in the other thread is about people crossing the line about Jefferson...perhaps you have no clue regarding some of the stuff being spewed...move along.

There is no doubting that Lee looks very confident right now, and is clearly the No. 1 QB. There is no reason to platoon QB's or even bring in Jefferson in certain situations in which we could use his running abilities. I believe Jefferson should only see the field if Lee gets injured or we are blowing out an opponent, AND it is determined that he is a better option than Mettenburger.
I agree with all this. People need to realize we're doing fine without a "running threat" at the QB position. But, if Lee is injured, JJ would certainly be a solid backup.

It stands to reason that having QB depth is beneficial...having experienced QB depth is even better
I can't understand how every LSU fan can't think this way.

I'm not suggesting putting JJ in on 3rd and short--or ever, for that matter--but is Lee's psyche so fragile he couldn't handle JJ coming in for a play here and there? No other position seems to mind getting subbed for occasionally. I think you are doing a disservice to Lee suggesting he is so mentally weak.

I was replying to the guy saying put JJ in on 3rd and short (less than 4). That could be just about every series and I don't agree with that. That's the perfect situation for the playaction to Beckham we scored on last week. A play here and there for JJ, maybe. EVERY 3rd and short, no. ANY entire series, not unless Lee is injured or the game is well in hand.

Why don't you all start whacking all the JJ vs. JL threads? It's getting out of hand.

I said I like jj on 3rd and short. I never said he should be in the game for every 3rd and short we ever face. I also like Spencer ware in short yardage situations. I'm just trying to say there are some situations where I like what a players skillset brings to the table. I never claimed to be Lee's psychologist.

Couldn't agree more.
I think a lot of fans have little confidence in Miles' handling of the QB position since he's been here...whether justified or not. Miles does some unorthodox things sometimes and yanking Lee when he's a little flat isn't beyond Les. If that happens, who knows what happens.
