If LSU runs the table, we would have beaten a #1 or #2 Bama team, not to mention beating the team that gave us our only loss(another #1 or #2 team). Plus we beat Washington and USC did not. There is no way USC could make it over LSU.

Logically...LSU should make it in over the other 8 teams ranked ahead of them....(running the schedule and counting bama and florida)

USC is the darling of ABC/ESPN and get a free pass when it comes to routinely losing to unranked opponents. When's the last time LSU had done that.
A long time, maybe UAB when Saban was the coach?

This shouldn't matter. But it does. USC lost before LSU and has had more time to recover. Not to mention they were higher ranked when they fell.
Should LSU win out, the only teams that could stand in the way are an unbeaten Iowa and an unbeaten Texas.
