Agree 100%. I am 54 years old and was born and have lived in Alabama 52 of my 54 years (work less than 1/2 mile from BDS) and the arrogance of most is indescribable!

In my mind it was the 1985 game where they ran a trick play to tie us, and we missed an easy game winning field goal. Couple that with the idea that Bama owned Tiger stadium, it made me hate them.

Truth is, it was the fact that I knew most games when they won here, they were lucky, and we beat them on the road regularly, but their Pom Pom waiving fans were such assholes at the games and made me REALLY hate them.

Most if them didn't know hit about college football.

It's a childhood hatred.

At the first sight of a hideous houndstooth hat on an ornery old bastard smoking on the sideline cursing his players and anybody else that would come with in ear shot of Paul Bear Bryant. that gump arse

I don't remember Bawr. I actually kind of liked Bill Curry, but of course he was treated terribly. Then Stallings showed up. My Mom said he tried to imitate Bear on purpose.

It goes back to the late 60s or early 70s. We would watch the LSU - Alabama games on ABC. I loved listening to Keith Jackson call the games, but I hated those games because they would kickoff in the afternoon and LSU lost most of the time. Can't say I have ever pulled for Alabama in any situation...ever.

As a youngster I had always held a dislike for bama because elders disliked them, but never really understood.
Somewhere in the middle of a 10+ year losing streak in the mid-70s is when I came of age and truly learned to hate.

Hey Grandad: we beat bama in 1969 (BR) and 1970 (Birmingham). I was at LSU 1969-1973 seasons (2 degrees).

My hatred of alabama football I got from my parents who absolutely despised Bear Bryant based on their 1950s Texas experiences before they came to BR in 1960. I learned to hate alabama in the 1960s when LSU stated playing them again.

I don't remember the year but they beat us badly in Death Valley and their shite fans went around town spray painting Roll Tide on everything.
Hated them ever since and won't ever stop.
