it's not just lsu fans, whether you would like to believe that or not.
i, unfortunately, live in florida, and was listening to a radio show talking a/b florida's football team, and 3 people in a row called in and complained a/b their offense and that the coaches aren't doing anything to develop the talent that is being recruited. this team is #1 in the country, won 16 straight games, and the national championship 2 of the last 3 years.

Oh yeah, that 93-yard punt return that CJ really had no business fielding anyway. Jones almost got us in a boat-load of trouble when he tried to repeat that performance.

I would think that most teams around the country would love to be ranked #9, and only one loss by 10 pts. to the #1 team in the country. I'm sure elite programs such as VA Tech, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Ohio St. would love to be where we are.

It is in the blood of Louisiana natives. When you are last in so much stuff in life (education, health care, quality of living), you become pessimistic. When something goes right (the success of LSU football), that mentality carries over.
LSU fans, especially those who call Louisiana home, are afraid that there one claim towards success could vanish at a moment's notice. In an effort to curb their emotions, they prepare themselves for the worst (by saying "we are going downhill" after every game, etc.) If the ship ever sinks, LSU fans are the ones who are holding on to the planks in the water with a sense of accomplishment because "they knew that the ship was not built right, captain was an idiot, etc.", and that things would eventually go downhill anyhow.

People call me a NEGA-TIGER!! They can screw that. The problem is that as long as I have followed this team I point out goods things and bad. I say IF you can't complain when something is wrong than you are NOT A TRUE FAN!! So I will complain all I want and STILL ROOT FOR LSU!!!! Now If I think they will lose a game cause I think the other team is better, Thats my choice. But I HOPE LSU would win eery game. So all you HOMERS OUT THERE CAN KISS MY arse!!!

When we joined the SEC. Seriously, the most negative fans around. Hell, most big time football programs have crappy fans.

being happy with a win over msu after needing a miracle goal line stand should let everyone know we are on our way to mediocrity
So florida's close win against arkansas means they are on their way to mediocrity?

Arkansas is worlds better than MSU.
Posted on 10/19/09 at 5:34 pm to OFWHAP
Arkansas is getting better and better every week and year. to say they are on the same level as MSU is a complete and utter joke. UF played poor in that game yes, but it was a one game anomaly. I'm sure they will be back to killing people in no time. we on the otherhand continue to just get by time after time. we're 5-1 yes, but when we play the better teams on our schedule let's see how well we do "just getting by".

After winning the national title in 2003 and 2007 the fan base now expects to contend for the national championship every year. That is not realistic. I know several people who were pissed off after the Georgia win. If you can't enjoy that then find a different way to spend your time.

I hate to let you know, but if your from Louisiana you have a certain negativeness about you.
I have always noticed the negative fan base for both LSU and the Saints, hence why they were once called the Aints

i'm not expecting us to keep for nat. titles every year. i do expect to compete for SEC titles every year, and it's pretty obvious right now we're not doing that. UGA like AU last year is fools gold. a close win over a very mediocre team. nothign to get excited about if you ask me.

maybe not but if we are an "elite" program it should be a BCS bowl EVERY season. is that unrealistic ? now that may still come to pass this year but i dont see it unless things change and quickly

Yes, that is unrealistic in the SEC.

Sooo...criticism IS negativity.
There are people in this world who put down on others for pathological or purely narcissicistic reasons. But when you criticize an instituttion or individual that you LOVE...that aint selfish.
Does anybody believe that the people doing the criticizing, dont love their Tigers.
No...we smell a rat, and if that dead rat is in the upper echelons of the coaching, then just who in the hell is going to demand that the coaches live up to and earn the extraordinary status and salaries - and expectations therein - that WE invest in them...if not us.
We buy the best...we expect to get our money's worth. If they cant stand the heat...they better split the kitchen.
And the kids...well pro sports and riches and fame...has a price. No prisoners. They will be expected to give it their all. In our case, I think they do. Though I will say this...if you changed jerseys with most any potent offensive in the current, and didn't know who was who...I guarantee you I could pick out our O. Or a Saban defense...anytime of the day.
Damn it...ITS THE COACHING! Crowton/ Miles, et al, had better get their act together. Or they'll be eatin elk instead of crayfish...soon enough.
