I love how if you don't pick LSU, you're a flamer. Personally, I think we win 17-13, but LSURussian is a good guy, he's just got a different opinion.

I didn't say he wasn't a good guy or an LSU fan, but I do think he's probably trying to get a rise out of people. Even the people anticipating that LSU loses 5 games this year are expecting this to be a close game, but a loss. So losing by 2 TDs is a bit extreme.

LSU wins. Another over-rated ACC defense bites the dust.

Just for shits and giggles, lets assume that we get the same offense that hit the field against UF last year. UNC probably isn't AS good as that defense, but close, so we score 13 instead of 3. The corners are manned up, and someone bites on a double move and Taylor misses a tackle. Thats 7 right there. Someone muffs a punt in our own 30. They get a field goal out of that. They beat our defense on two long scoring drives, and there you go. Thats 24 to 13 in pretty believable circumstances.

It will be like an LSU Auburn game.
LSU has fared farely well in those.
I say LSU 23-UNC 16

UNC Defense = Tarzan
UNC Offense = Jane
UNC Offense = Jane

Tell me one thing that is factual wrong with my scenario. No matter who returns punts, they are going to be "new" at it (Chad/Trindon are gone). Two legit scoring drives in a 60 minute game happens on the best NFL defenses. Blown coverages happen quite a bit in college. Our offense doesn't HAVE to be better than last years, there's no written rule about that. Like I said earlier, I think we win in a low scoring close match. Back off my nuts

They had a few posters on their board bragging that they would go undefeated this year...lol.

I see it alot like the first game last year, or for that matter of any year under Miles. It takes the team a while to get in the groove, so it will be much closer cause of that. I say 17 - 13 LSU wins.

LSU prevails in a close game.

We're going to come out like we did vs GT and kick UNC's @$$.
41-13 LSU
41-13 LSU

LSU lost games to power running teams or teams with a lot of speed last year:
Bama(Ingram/Richardson)
Florida(Tebow & company)
Ole Miss(McCluster)
Penn State(Royster/Darryl Clark)
UNC doesn't have either on offense. I think LSU will be ok if they can get to 20 pts.

The problem people love to ignore is that we are small (although strong) on the DL. That is going to be a potential issue against a power running team, and will only be exacerbated by our smallish and young LBers outside of Sheppard.
They also act like only LSU can improve and no other team can. UNC's got talent on both sides of the ball. If they improve half as much on the offensive side of the ball as some LSU fans think the Tigers team will, than they have a good shot to beat us.
They also have an attacking defense unlike LSU's. Chavis is a bend don't break and if we keep calling/playing defense like last year, we're going to keep them in the game unless our offense goes all out crazy and is as good as 2007.

Your scenario is fine, but there are hundreds of scenarios, you know? Difficult to say which one happens... I believe the method (see my post on first page) of breaking down team units is more accurate, but it is too tedious for the rant (you know, actual research).

See, I never bashed your analysis. If anything, my score spread agrees with your findings saying its going to be a close game won by LSU. Honestly, I don't know the numbers you used, and if this were the poliboard I would be trying to poke holes in that, but you stated your opinion, and I stood up for another poster. I never even MENTIONED your analysis in any of my posts.

I barely have enough time for the rant...
And any football game can have a 14 point swing either way just on random occurrences. These are unlikely in general though. Most people don't make their predictions on such things, and if they do they are usually hoping their team gets them. So either LSURussian thinks UNC is really 10 points better than LSU (and I think he sucks), or he's rooting for UNC (and I think he sucks).
Nothing personal Jcorye1... Didn't mean to put your panties in wad.
