All right one thing is a fifth year QB can learn a play book faster than a first year QB. Wouldnt you be scared as hell to give a young QB a huge playbook.Im just sayin JJ is not ready to take on a playbook like that. I might not be a coach but thats how I see it. Its kinda like givin someone a gun. Would you rather an adult or a child with it.

this is the answer

Give me the link to a statement made by someone with football coaching experience saying GC can't develop players or just admit u r running off at the mouth.

How about one of Crowton's former players?

quote:

The first aspect of the program that needed to be changed after Crowton left was the off-season/winter training regiment. Under Crowton, the summer/winter work-outs were ineffective (to put it delicately.) It wasn’t that the training program wasn’t in place, there just wasn’t enough attention paid to the players’ development and progression. Players would lift if they wanted to, but if they didn’t have the internal desire to improve, there wasn’t anyone there to put on the pressure and make sure each player not only showed up, but showed improvement. During my first 2 years under the Crowton regime, I was never asked to set goals or obtain a certain level of conditioning. I worked out because that is what I was scheduled to do. I didn’t have a specific purpose to my workouts. Also, during the summertime, when physical development is the most important, attendance was extremely low and there wasn’t any accountability for missed workouts. All in all, there was a lack of responsibility to your teammates and coaches. Coach Mendenhall fixed this with player leadership after he was appointed HC.

Tigerclaw, I get your point and it's a valid one.

U have to be able to walk before u can run.

Some of our experts in all areas of college football who post here don't have the common sense to come in out of the rain, but are all knowning when it comes to LSU football.

Tigerdandy some of the people on here type and dont think. Ill bet you the playbook will be a little better this year just because JJ is now more capable of takin on the playbook and GC knows if JJ AND the rest of the O doesnt perform hes being fired. I see a great season.10-2to12-0

U know it!

Anyone with common sense knows GC and JJ played last yr with a limited play book do to JJ's youth and inexperince with the LSU system. That's why LM didn't release GC last yr. GC will be gone after this yr if the O doesn't step it up.

well we do agree on this... i think that is precisly why Less didn't get rid of GC. if they stink it up this year he can fire GC and buy himself another couple of years....

No Timmy, that would make LM lack a backbone like some of our "fans".

LM has proven he will let staff go, but he's not going to take away part of the play book from an OC and then fire the OC DUE to a poor O.

Would u do that, Timmy?

no dandy, that would mean he bought himself at least one more year.... you can call it a lack of a backbone if you like.. whatever makes you feel better about him...

so Less took away part of the playbook? so now it's Less' fault that our offense was bad last year?

do you have a link for that, or is that just more of your mindless dribble....

My biggest concern is if Gary Crowton has any kind of idea what to do with all that offensive talent we have!!!!
