Matt Womack passed out and shite himself in Fred’s during his OV. He later flipped to Bama and somehow got us in trouble because he secretly signed a financial aid agreement with them while we were still contacting him.

We bought Hootie Jones a brand new Dodge Ram to get him to commit, obviously he didn’t, we asked for the truck, he refused to give it back, and immediately after the truck was “stolen” by someone lmao.


Derrius Guice bought a LSU gold Dodge Charger with money we gave him. The staff made him take it back and get a black one because it was as too fricking obvious. Dee also threatened last minute to flip to Bama to get more money too.

Nakobe Dean got 5-6 figure bags from LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, AU, Bama, and UGA. Mississippi kids have always been the undisputed kings of chasing the bag, but Nakobe was next level. Only ones that hold a candle to him are Leo Lewis and Cam Akers.

Tommy Tuberville was hosting a big recruiting dinner at a fine restaurant at Texas Tech. He received a phone call during dinner and got up and excused himself... the next time those recruits saw Tommy he was getting off a plane and being announced as the new HC of the Univ of Cinncinnati.

Absolute true story. He got flamed by the media for that one.

LSU Pitcher having a very rough outing, Skip goes to the mound, and says. “Do not worry, not your fault, it is mine, I never should have recruited you”

He was a 5-star and one of the first recruits to have a highlight video go viral in the early days of youtube.
He was a bust as a football recruit but he made the US Olympic bobsled team and competed in Seoul in 2018. Along with a degree from Rice he’s probably doing ok for himself.

A friend of mine was an assistant at Alabama and in charge of recruiting David Palmer, aka The Deuce, back in the day.
He showed up for an in home visit at his house in West End Birmingham and Palmer is sitting in the living room with his grandmother and two other siblings eating fried chicken and watching porn. I asked my buddy “So what did you do?” Rodney replied, “Got me a piece of chicken and watched the movie.”

I posted this earlier but I butchered the story.
O did recruit his arse off and there are countless stories to back that up. That’s why he was a lethal recruiter when he was a position coach.

When I hear fans say “O was a great recruiter” there are caveats to that - If you told him to go scout and recruit DL that’s his strength and he’s the best in the business aside from maybe Bo Davis.

If he’s asked to build and manage a roster, delegate recruiting responsibilities to others, and hire quality coaches to coach those players, that’s where he ran into problems.
