Les actually said Lee is the starter FOR NOW. Combine that with the fact that JJ was the starter before the season, he publicly said his goal is to be the starter, a lot of his teammates look at him as a starter, and Les has a history of making questionable/unpredictable decisions at times....and you've got yourself a case of fear.
Not saying it's going to happen, or that there should be a large amount of fear, but...I see where the fear concept is coming from.

Idiocy? So it's completely illogical to say that we're 5-0 and the offense actually seems functional with Lee. Or conversely that JJ may have improved as much as Lee has under Kragthorpe and he brings an added dimension with his athleticism that Lee cannot muster.
Fearmongering? So honest concerns that Lee could revert to his old habit of panicking or that JJ, if he comes in, will continue to be the most ineffective QB in major college football are not legitimate fears? They are "mongering"?
Racism? I'm sure that a small percentage of the fans (of both races) have their judgment clouded by the stereotypes about their race. But LSU has embraced winners (Davey,Herb, Russell (the LSU version); Jones, Hodson, Mauck, Flynn) and we've been hard on those who have not performed well (Randall, Jefferson 10; Booty, Lee 08) regardless of their race.
So in short, I think you are wrong and just projecting.

These two things...they counter each other. When brought together, it is obvious how anyone with these illogical "fears" should be able to get over them.

For the record, I'm unconcerned about it whether les goes with jj or lee (although I'd stick w lee if I were les). Rather, I did not like someone saying basically that our fans are stupid, racist or fearmongers because of legitimate concerns. The fan base has plenty of other problems but this issue is not one of them.
