Apparently the rule is that a team has to follow its own internal policy. But what kind of violation would it be to truncate the suspension by one game?

Seems like it would be a slap on the wrist

Do you really wanna set that precedent for future players though? It’s really not that hard to stay off the weed, fix up or sit. You don’t want to look like Bama’s joke of a compliance department.

1. Why cut his suspension short? We play 3 teams we should beat handily next.

2. It doesn’t seem, to me at least, that this is an NCAA suspension, but more of a team suspension.

Bama hasn’t been in any NCAA trouble and they don’t have near the amount of suspended players we do every year, sooooo.....

To protect Burrow since Deculus is hurt.

The suspension is internal but the ncaa is concerned with teams following their internal policies.

What I’m trying to figure out is just how concerned - it doesn’t seem like nearly enough for any kind of harsh sanction.

You’re right, they totally didn’t let Cam Robinson off with nothing carrying weed and a gun in his car.

The fact that our compliance department tests our athletes for marijuana use is about the dumbest thing ever.

We don’t need to invite the NCAA into any kind of investigation...same reason you don’t call the game wardens to your hunting camp!!

Here is how the interaction between the NCAA and bama compliance office goes:

NCAA : Hey Alabama we have been tipped off about some bad stuff going on down there.

Bama Compliance : No it’s all good

NCAA : we may need to come down there to launch an investigation.

Bama Compliance : Ha Ha Ha. No you don’t and you won’t. Instead here is an idea, why don’t you go f yourself.

NCAA : Ok sounds like you have it all under control. Let us know if you need anything from us.

Bama Compliance : Don’t ever call is again. If you do we will make your life miserable.

NCAA : Ok, sorry to bother you. Have a good day.

Bama Compliance : Go F Yourself.

How far back we talking, here? Alabama football damn near got the death penalty in this millennium. Repeat violators. Albert Means. What they did get fricking crippled them until they were lucky enough to stumble arse-backwards into Nick Saban.

The textbook scandal was in the last decade. Ole Nicky boy had wins vacated because part of it happened on his watch. They were under NCAA probation up until 2012 because of that particular round of cheating.

Alabama doesn't have NCAA violations, my arse.

Worst thing you can do, especially when you don’t need to and Ole Piss isn’t a need and neither will be Arky. But that is how you divide locker rooms with “oh you helped him out, but you not willing to help me out”

Rules have to apply for all players are you get what happened at Florida Myers last year there. The coaches have handled it extremely well so far absolutely couldn’t have done a better job. Why don’t you have faith in them continuing to know what they are doing in regards to when and when not to play Charles?

Why not?? Honest question

It’s not as if Bama is letting players get by with an addiction to heroin

NCAA athletes smoke weed, period. It’s legal in many states. Why should LSU press this issue?
