Jefferson was a good in 2018 but I dont think anyone would have been giving him insane amounts of money.

He is also the 3rd of 3 brother to play here.

Going into '19, he would have cost at least as much as whatever Chase would have agreed to out of HS, probably more.
He had a good year, but a kid who's a 3x legacy, was still undersized, had drop issues, and had 800 yards would not have cost 5 star freshman money.

LSU could never afford it now.

I mean that’s what’s happening if your watching, we have to re recruit every single year and the bargain freshman that balled out is now getting the sec starter money or will go to a team that pays
This isn't true.

Top programs don't lose guys who produce without a coaching change. Sure, they may ask for a little bit more money, but they're not hopping in the portal to get more. LSU has not lost a productive player in the portal outside of when O left. Even when O left, LSU didn't lose a single productive Louisiana player.

The only productive players that have left LSU since this began are:

1. Ricks - coaching change
2. McGlothern - kicked off team
3. Trey Palmer - playing time, coaching change
4. Jack Bech - playing time, pussy
5. Corey Kiner - playing time, coaching change
6. Max Johnson - playing time, coaching change
7. Demario Tolan - family situation
8. Logan Diggs - issue with coaching staff
9. Heard - playing time

CJ Daniels is the only productive player that LSU has lost to the portal that wasn't because of playing time or a coaching change. People have reported it's about money, but I think it's more likely about being the #1 guy with his former quarterback.

LSU does not have to "Re-recruit" every player on the team. They do have to fight to keep younger, out of state guys that don't get much playing time, that may want to return closer to home while also getting a bag. That's been the vast majority of guys that have left.
