yea, Brennan is obviously the best QB. look how many TD's he threw last week. and he looks so comfortable out there.

Oh bullshite. Lee wasn't ruined by that. He came to us ruined. He just didn't have the mental toughness. Neither Peyton Manning nor Tommy Hodson were ruined by playing early.

Why would anyone want this? If he's playing minutes that aren't cleanup it means we're out of playoff contention.

You and the other anti Etling morons will get plenty of time to second guess Brennan and call for his backup in the coming years.

Lee was ruined? 9-0 and lead the SEC in passer rating his Sr. season vs the toughest schedule in the country. Who's the last LSU QB to do any of these things much less in the same season?

Dude it's not about the freshmen's better arm! It's about the ability to read a defense , and make good choices in big road games. Barring injuries Brennan will play very little this year.

An injury to Danny Etling.

Otherwise Brennan will receive scrub time snaps for now.

This is Etling's team and they need to get used to playing together. Funny thing about football ..... many fail to recognize that the QB is just one of the eleven on the field. For a play to really work, all eleven have to click. The other thing some forget is that there are eleven others on the other side of the line that can potentially influence the outcome of that play.

The idea of slowly developing M.B. is the best way to go.

If the game is going that bad against the more elite teams, then that's means DE and been knocked out and 1 for 15, 2 turnovers, and 0 points again.

Brennan, while the much better playmaker and passer of the two, would not be the change of pace to get us past Bama and other stout defense imo.

Both play in the pocket and teams like Clemson and Bama will tee off on both if the Oline in getting handled. That would probably call for JM to add another dimension. Let's get there first and hope we still have something to play for before that ever happens.

Then it'll be added pressure because 100,000 fans at the games will be calling for his head. Threads on forums all about how terrible this 18 year old is. Etc etc.

I remember. I also remember Lee being the same type of QB, and heralded as much, as Brennan.

If we're having to rely on a true freshman regardless of potential, team isn't meeting expectations

Like Jalen Hurts last year?

Hurts is a running QB and one of the worst passing QBs in the SEC Brennan is a pocket passer. If you don't know the difference in learning curves between pocket passers and running QBs then you don't know anything about football.

So what are you saying here? Brennan has the potential of Hurts? Same skill set? Same O-Line? Same defense on the other side of the ball? Was there a senior in front of Brennan?

There are literally 100 variables, yet you only bring up one example. One example that's a RB playing QB

He did well up to Bama, but TBH Lee sat for 4 of the 6 ranked(final) opponent games.
