Look up the word 'foil'...in the literary sense. LSU is Alabama's foil (at least right now, because few others can keep up). LSU will either learn to play the part (which means losing sometimes too) or will be just another team in the SEC lookin' for a break and attention. ESPN just put the rivalry on the front burner, but it's been brewing for a while. Enjoy it while you can.

We already have.
We are 9-4 against them since 2000.
We are 16-14-1 against them since '82.
We have 4 SEC Titles since 2001, and 6 since '86.
They have ONE SEC title since 1999, 4 since '82!
We have won 2 National Championships since 2003, and have 3 BCSNCG appearances in that time frame, and are 4-1 in BCS bowl games.
They have won 2 National Championships since 2009, but their last one was in '92, and have 2 BCSNCG appearances, and are 2-2 in BCS bowl games.
We have played in 12 bowl games since 2000, winning 8, and have 12 straight winning seasons.
They have played in 9 bowl games since 2000, winning 6. Alabama has had 3 losing seasons and 1 .500 season since 2000.

history can overtake this "claim", which I can't take seriously because it is absurd and nonsensical, but just to play along, let's look at permanent settlements, after both states (or "regions" back then) had plenty of Spanish explorers look around but make no official settlements -- this came later by the French:
Louisiana: 1699
Alabama: 1702
So, Louisiana's money is older by 3 years.
