What will be the media reaction if the offense just hums today?

Last year it was "wait until they face a real defense" and "they'll have a sloppy game eventually."

If we go out and score 50 today I predict about 75% of media reactions to be some variation of "yes, but Bama's still on that schedule!" and 25% "oh... shite."

"It was just Mississippi State."

That's gonna be the reaction regardless. So many have said we are gonna struggle and lose a lot of games. Then they will pull that card to justify their prediction.

We’ll run for 325 yards today and throw for around 200. The media will say they need to see more from Brennan til they make a judgement.

Yeah, I can see a shift from "is LSU ready for a Mike Leach air raid attack?" to "yes, but let's not forget State is installing a whole new staff and system."

Herbie was the first person I’ve heard outside of the local media to mention he thinks LSU will outplay a lot of people’s expectations and have a big chip on their shoulder.

They will totally give the credit to the fact that Leach never has a good D.

Despite what many here think, Herbie has almost always been very fair to LSU. He knows more football than nearly any other national personality.

Maybe.. the haters will be negative. But Orgeron is now very popular.. and Brennan is kind of a sympathetic story. So maybe not.

Even some of the non LSU writers acknowledge there are NFL bodies all over the roster

Is this a Bama reload. Or a three years to rebuild an elite roster like miles. I think Bama reload.

Great friend is a big time MSU booster and last night said he thought we would have success in passing game due to inexperienced secondary compared to last year. Said to expect Leach to attack with quick short passing game utilizing their good rb like we all thought they would. They are excited about Leach and love the fact that he is such a character. I met Leach back in Jan while he was on a recruiting trip on the gulf coast at one of the casinos and indeed is a very interesting character.

Same as last year. They won’t care till it’s against Bama.
