Injuries are always used as a lame excuse. Mainieri is complacent as always. His teams underperform and he whines like a fricking kid. Do your fricking job Paul. Quit mailing it in. Find players who can play !!!

. I don’t think injuries are a lame excuse. Injuries are a part of the game but what is concerning is that this team billed as being so talented and deep because of this amazing recruiting but it just isn’t working out.

I don’t think it is about talent or poor coaching although I think it would help to have a experienced hitting coach. The biggest problem is not much on the field leadership. It isn’t a knock any player, some people are just natural leaders and unfortunately I don’t think this team has any.

Baseball is so different now. We have talent but EVERYONE has talent. My son threw two 71 mph fastballs from a 40’ mound at 11 years old. This year at 50’ the same guy clocked him at 71mph so he says. We never knew he was there until he contacted us with this information last month.
I’m not touting my son. I’m wondering who pays these people? What is their purpose? He emailed us a regimen of lessons, year round baseball, workouts that cost thousands. If you saw it and a kid did it, they’d either become damn good at baseball or kill themselves trying. And we looked into it and there are TONS of people that do it. It’s insane.
