I think Bama is just too good
Mett carved thier arse up last year with Stud calling plays.
Mett is better, has a better OC, the WRs are better, they have less film to study on the offense, we have TEs that can catch( even though you haven't seen it yet).
To call that game an automatic loss is being a chicken little pussy.

I am more concerned with McCarron and Manziel carving up the Soul Patrol in the secondary. And how exactly do you know Welter will cost us a game?

holy crap the negativity around here is horrible.
and it's not just here either. Friend of mine who went to TCU game complained multiple times "this is the same offense as last year". I was astounded; chose not to respond because it would not have been pretty.
The he repeated it at the Kent game just this last weekend. I am incapable of explaining it.

what are we doing that's drastically different from last year other than executing? we passed a lot last yr but lack of execution led to pulling back a bit. this year, we are executing the pass so we go to it more.
sure this offense is a bit different from the JL/JJ days but those were two mediocre QB's. miles played to his strengths when we had them and he's playing to his teams' strength now.

The defense doesn't look as dominate as last year but geez its not bad by any means. Last year through 3 games LSU gave up 615 yards. This year through 3 they have given up 803. This comes to 62.6 yards more given up this year than last year per game at this point. It's really not as bad as some of you make it out to be and i cant see them doing anything but improving. If it was a veteran D then i would be worried but they are young and will get better each week.

executing would be my first answer
but you can tell there was a lot of work put in during the offseason to improve that execution. I also think they are thinking beyond the next play too.
regardless of why, 2012 Offense =/= 2013 Offense.
I can't fathom why anyone would think it does.

I think the intensity of the D will be noticeably different in SEC play.

The difference in the offense is that we are throwing more on first down than we have. Which will make the run more effective in the long run. Also cam will call more passing plays to the Rb's and ends, which will add a huge wrinkle to defenses. With the schedule we have, it is near impossible to win every game. My prediction 2 loses this year. Hope im wrong "GO TIGAHS"

Fans of other teams here in Houston have pretty much written off LSU. They are double fisting the ESPN kool aid and I can't wait to show everyone what this team is capable of.

No major arguments. I wouldn't say we have "only" two dependable receivers -- I would say we have "at least" two dependable receivers. Smith and Dural could get there by mid-season.

One difference in the offense that I don't think has been discussed much. More so than in the past there seems to be an emphasis on getting the ball to particular players, i.e., our best playmakers. This could help account for the fact that there have been fewer throws to people like Drual, Smith, etc.

I think Beckwith and Tre White will be extremely good by the time we play Bama and aTm. If we can get past Georgia, Florida and Ole Miss, this team could easily be in the late running for the national title.
As long as we stay healthy (knock on wood) this team should get better each week based on experience alone.
I could also see this team being similar to the 2006 team that had a loss early but ended up arguably being the best team in the nation by year's end because young talent became experienced talent by year's end.
If LSU runs the table, it will likely have to beat UGA twice to make it to the BCSCG. That is unfortunate.

defense has been horrible at tackling in space, reading the offense, and busted coverages. Thought by 4th game it would be alot better, guess not

We're going undefeated this year.
Bama's D looks like hot garbage and TAM's is even worse. Georgia will tell the tale. We win that, we're winning out.

We will know more about Ole Myth and bama in two weeks. That pass that ZM threw to Landry with three defenders in the endzone might have been picked off by SEC teams. I like our chances in all games and am really happy that our Tigers are 3-0!
