That "game plan" and rickety azz passing would have gotten the same results against Bama/OM/Arky had we played them again. The thing that saved us was the suck factor of TAM.

Our passing game sucks, 7 out of 8 years, and it is an anchor on the entire team. How's that for a target?

Agree here...but will say if I'm really surprised LSU didn't look more at Tennessee's game plan against Bama prior to the game. I feel like we play a similar brand of ball with superior talent, and TENN gave Kiffin/Saban fits.

I see no evidence that we ever pay attention to prior performances by our opponents, or try to exploit their weaknesses.

Exactly. We do our own thing regardless of what other teams have used successfully against upcoming opponents.

Play calling was fine but the one team that we really didn't need to pass against we threw it 21 times. the execution killed us Saturday.

2011 we were 24th in QB efficiency and 43rd in yards per attempt. Sorry we didn't have long fields to cover to score. Why is it so hard to give credit for 2011?

Oh? They changed a ton of stuff in the Arkansas game to play to their weakness. How did that work out? They looked in disarray.

Sometimes you have to just go with what you can accomplish.

its not the play calling thats bad, its the design of the plays that are bad. However, in the first series we did bring a receiver in motion and fake a handoff to him before giving it to Founette. It was a good looking play but we NEVER came back to it. That should have been a play to setup the next series of plays. Maybe next time handoff to the motion man or fake to both runners and throw. We dont try fool people enough. Oh yeah, except on the Guice TD run!

I think we ran that play three times. My particular problem with it is that it looked poorly timed... the receiver and the running back were too close to each other at the moment of the feigned handoff, which means that Harris's fake looked unnatural and thus unconvincing to a defender. The receiver needs to be little bit ahead of that in order that Harris can make a convincing fake and in order to keep the DL from converging on the same spot in the backfield as the RB.

Apparently, we called great plays we had not practiced enough to execute correctly.

Next question.

Simple. We don't have or can't develop a QB.
In 2013 we set an SEC record for offense. A 1000 rusher, two 1000 receivers, and a 3000 yd QB. Nothing wrong with that CLM/CCC offense just 2 yrs ago

It was fine. For TAMU, almost anything would have worked. Think Les was trying the "rule of opposites" against Chief, with all the pass attempts

The problem was, once again, not having a decent QB on the roster to execute the good offensive game plan.

News Flash: There are 4 main issues that persist.
1) Poor Qb recruitment, selection and development
2) Poor offensive philosophy most games against top SEC teams
3) Sloppy execution and time management
4) Special teams continue to suck.

Against the weak TAMU defense, fixing one of these was enough.

You should probably do the same. The play calls were very effective. Wide open receivers everywhere. Harris got punched in the mouth during the Bama game and went in his own head, as many young QB's are prone to do.

I was finally happy to see the swing pass out of the backfield to Fournette. That play was 10 games too late.

The swing pass was used and missed several times throughout the year. Harris has to learn touch on the ball and not sending cruise missles every throw. That takes experience to learn.
