Why in the world does anyone care about style points?!?! If dull is winning 13 games, the SEC and being 12th in scoring offense I'll take dull everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

I love style points. Most people do.

The difference Monday night wast least partially because Bama had a better offensive attack and it showed some versatility.

Miles conservatism bit him on the arse.

People wonder why you don't open it up when you don't have to? Because there will be a time you have to and if you haven't done it, you ain't gonna do it then.

LSU coasted on offense all year long and when they had to open the throttle, they couldn't do it. Miles should have prepared for this long before the NCG

If Miles didn't want Lee to play, and JJ wasn't getting the job done then Mettenberger should have been ready. He should have been out there flinging away vs Ole Miss or WKU.

Our offense is like an 8 year old kid playing ncaa football on xbox with a custom playbook, a whole bunch of shite that doesn't work

I do too! Don't know anyone who doesn't. BUT, I am more about the results rather than the process. Results were very good this year.

You have to have some kind of process. You have to have an offense you are comfortable with when it has to perform. The NCG exposed LSU's lack of preparation. Actually, the first Bama game and UGA game did as well.

Sometimes just winning isn't enough, you have to prepare your depth and you have to integrate a complete offense so when it is necessary it is ready to go. It's obvious this didn't happen with LSU this year.

Miles put all his "eggs in one basket" with JJ and a super conservative offense and it came back to haunt him.

our offensive results were solid, but not amazing. the defense and special teams were big in our scoring stats

our yardage stats weren't that great this year. i think our ypp was in the middle tier (trying to look it up but can't find it just yet

"SKILL SETS"

Miles builds his offenses around his QB's skill set...He hasn't had a lot to work with the last four years but Mett's skill set is of a Pro-style QB so you can expect to see a makeover of the offense next season.

I used to be the div. manager for a cruise line, land division here in Ak. I had to have an annual contingency plan for catastrophic events, and every dispatch on my daily schedules were built in with back up plans in case flights were late, winds were high and ships couldn't come in.

For every move on the daily dispatch, there was a built in backup plan which had been thought through and prepared for just as the primary plans.

No matter what offense a team wants to run, if you want to run one like Les wanted you absolutely have to have a backup and it has to be ready to go in case your first one doesn't work. It really looked to me like there was no backup plan, and Miles didn't think it was ready to go. This is why you open things up at times even if you don't think it's necessary so when you need it, you know you have it.

With JJ none. Did not change all 4 years! I hope this year we are going to be a lot better as we will finally have a QB!

I agree. BUT, this is exactly how he built this team. He built it to really be a field position team. Pin teams back with outstanding defense and special teams to set up short fields.

I believe he had to do this because of his personnel. Yes, it was his personnel. He recruited all those players. But in his mind I believe he thought he was putting the best package on the field.

I don't know if it didn't happen all season long. For sure it happened in two games. BUT,I believe the real problem was having two wildly different styles on the team. Its tough as hell to prepare your team for those two styles. Miles has made that adjustment and has only signed pro-style QB's.

Yes, LSU's field position was ridiculous this year. ST's and defense were the key. The offense really wasn't required to do much this season to win a game, until the final one. When they had to, they couldn't do it.

did you watch the first 9 games of the season? Lee played well in the Pro-style format (play action). And I think it's safe to say Mett will most definitely be better than Lee.
