That's pathetic. It's really low if it was a coach that was despised or disaliked. But Leach was a coach that was universally liked and loved. He was awesome and hilarious dude. I can't believe somebody would come up with that idea and tell his tailgate group that this would be an awesome sign. Then those idiots go along with it.

Related...a measure of how well-liked Coach Leach was is taken from Captain Tony's bar in Key West. They have bar stools with names stenciled on top. Over the years, people would steal them and, therefore, they have attached several to the wall/ceiling. "JFK" is an example. The barstool, as I understand it, that was stolen more than any other was "Mike Leach". It's now out of reach.

Side note, one of the classiest things Kiffin ever tweeted was his comment after Leach passed. Worth reading.

That's not cool at all. I think the Landry kiffin signs during LSU Olemiss week were just as bad.

Trashy AF. I'll be there in a couple weeks to flip some tables and call them trashy.

Whoever wants to join me can. I'll be in a purple shirt with LSU hat.

quote:

Lane Kiffin, the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, was a close friend and frequent rival of the late Mike Leach, who coached Mississippi State. Kiffin has consistently praised Leach as an innovative offensive mind, stating he "can't imagine college football without him" following Leach's death in December 2022.
