If Orgeron and Alleva are fired after 2 years we will be at rock bottom. Which is very possible at this point. At least a large percentage of our fans got what they wanted, Les fired and hired Coach O, a home state boy.

Glad you said this. You sir are 100% correct and I applaud you.

I agree with you, but can you imagine the backlash if LSU fired a first year head coach that went 7-5 or 8-4 playing an SEC West schedule?

The SEC West used to be a bear because LSU was in it. Now LSU can't handle it. That's, sadly, where we are now.

Who cares about backlash? If the decision proves early on to have been the wrong one, cut bait and move on. No sense in throwing good money after bad.

In this scenario, time is money.

At what point would you fire this coach if he was your newly hired coach? You all know who this is. This board needs to relax.

1995 Michigan St. 6-5
1996 Michigan St. 6-6
1997 Michigan St. 7-5
1998 Michigan St. 6-6
1999 Michigan St. 9-2
2000 Louisiana St. 8-4
2001 Louisiana St. 10-3
2002 Louisiana St. 8-5
2003 Louisiana St. 13-1
2004 Louisiana St. 9-3
2007 Bama 7-6

I'm not pro-O or anti-O. I will give the man a chance to show me what he can get done. First year for me is almost a pass (must have a winning record). Bad performance and you're immediately on the hot seat.

I say 10 wins or more annually is a must now. If not, why did we fire Miles?

You forgot to add how the teams were performing before he got the job.

1994 Michgan St. 5-6
1999 Louisiana st. 3-8
2006 Bama 6-7

That would put Orgeron's goal at 9-3, minimum. Anything less than that and there should be a problem. Orgeron is not taking over bad teams like Saban was.

Coach O will not be fired in 2017. Try to find something positive in your life instead of finding wrong with others. Sad for you.

Did, I miss something? Has LSU gone 4 seasons without a winning record? Is LSU coming off sanctions? The comparison is asinine. That's why people don't understand why Saban's resume at MSU was impressive. Context matters.

Exactly.

Great coaches come in and their teams improve immediately. Since people tell me that Coach O has a great football mind, why should we expect anything less?

Obviously, if he wins 8 or 9 games, he will be retained.

He shouldn't be. What was the point of firing Les and paying the buyout if you're going to produce the same results? Anything less than 10 wins, he and Alleva both should be gone. If LSU does not win the SEC championship and receive a bid in the college playoff at least once in the next 3 years, he and Alleva should be gone.

He will have three year contract and will successfully make a very good transition as HC at LSU.
What an assinine statement!

Southern Miss graduate to the NFL? Still looks like we're a long way from "nobody," yes?

No less than 8-4 to get one more year to get the ship righted. If he goes 8-4 or worse two years in a row, we are looking for a new coach.

2016 was a bad year to have a coaching search as no one of top quality was available. If Orgeron doesn't work out then we should be in much better position for hiring a head coach as I can't remember a year when so few quality coaches were available. Dam we were down to Orgeron or Fedora (and other Fedora equivalants) and a completely unready Fleck. At least by 2017,18,19 if things don't work out with Orgeron we should be in better position to get a quality coach.
