I have no doubts that DT is no Tim Tebow. However, he hasn't done anything to merit suspension and even the local media here is stating that. Btw, John Canzano usually calls for stiffer penalties.

Like I said, a one game suspension is not jail time. Hell, let him sit out Missouri State. It's not like it will affect your team. It just let's him know that he's got to be more careful.

It's been reviewed. The car was a rental and there are bank documents showing deposists for the exact amount of the proportionate rental charge for the amount of time the car was used. And yes the deposits were posted prior to Cliffy getting pulled over.

If so that's a mistake by Kelly. Like I said, he should sit him for the Missouri State game. Oregon will be better off because they'll certainly win the game, their back-up QB will get some work, and DT will avoid injury. DT however will lose out on a game where he would just be padding his stats. Win-win.

Kelly states in an interview DT was in the car because he had been in PDX and needed a ride to Eugene because of a trip to ESPN

This is ridiculous JDub... He moved in with his GF and they were splitting the rent. Apparently RS is not allowed to do that and has to pay it all. They discovered it early, he's paid the difference, and I expect it to be a non-issue.

Everyone here knows Darron Thomas isn't going to be suspended.
However, you are a fool if you don't think this makes Chip Kelly look bad. It is just another in a growing list of things that have come out over the last few months that show the kind of program that Kelly runs. And he has been in the middle of what looks like a coverup on multiple occasions.
It's not just 118. It's not just the marijuana. It's not just the car being rented by an AD employee. It's not just that DT has been involved in multiple situations similar to this one. It's not just the Blount situation (and his history). It's not just the Masoli situation. It's not just dealing with Lyles and the players he "delivered". It's not just pretending not to know who he was. It's not just the request for info from Lyles after the fact. It's not just paying at least 25k for what amounts to nothing. It's not just the thank you letters that imply a very questionable relationship.
It's all of those things. It paints a picture of what the Oregon program is.
Kelly runs a dirty program. Say you don't care. But, don't try and argue that none of those things are a valid.

Look Doc. It sounds like nothing to me. However, this shite gets blown out of proportion. Up here the media is making fun of LSU for a) the major violation hit b) implications of involvement with Lyles and c) Sheppard event. All of this took place in the offseason. Outsiders care little about the nuances or the facts. You can preach all day long about how "clean" your program is and what a great disciplinarian Miles is. In fact, I will say the same about our program. However, in the court of public opinion, you are judged.
