I was extremely pleased with the announcement of Brian Kelly as our new coach. Accomplished, wins everywhere he goes, develops talent extremely well, disciplined teams.
With that being said, I know piecing together staffs, and reaching out to the team/prospects can be very time consuming, especially when being worked around photo sessions and interviews.
But when are we going to move forward? I know it has been mentioned before, but time is against us. The reason we pushed to sign Kelly quickly was to sure up this recruiting class, but we have heard nothing in the realm of new recruits or assistant coaches being retained or brought in. The biggest news has been the loss of two coaches in Moffit and Joseph. Am I off base on timing, or should we expect to be hearing positive information soon with regard to recruits, current roster retention, and most importantly assistant coaches?

It's all in the works, we should start to hear OC and DC coaching interviews and hires this week. Big recruiting next weekend with schedule visits with a lot of players.

What exactly are you expecting to hear? Our coaches have been on the road recruiting, as expected. There have been discussions about these on the recruiting board. Also, some positive feedback from current commits. Early Signing Day is next Tuesday, that’s when you should expect to see some movement.

I guess I was thinking we would get some confirmations of coaches staying or being brought in ahead of ESD. I also kind of was hoping to see a big new commitment or two come in ahead of ESD, as a result of the new coach and his recruiting.
Not saying I am unhappy with anything, just more or less expected more "noise" so to speak.

He’s being deliberate and not making panic hires just because.

It’s almost as if he’s done this before

Settle down Beavis. Let the coach do his job. He has no timetable or obligation to let us know anything. When hires are made we will all know when its done. Till then just enjoy the fact that we have a capable coach who knows how to hire coordinators
