So the two games that LSU lost, you're saying the talent was equal on both sides of the ball?
Example, please?

No auburn is a game we should have won. I'm waiting to win a game where the talent is equal where we don't commit stupid penalties and then blame the refs like that was our only chance to win.
So, "big" games are only games where your team is a 10 point underdog? And what exactly makes you think we have equal talent to Bama or Florida?
So, basically, what you're saying is:
quote:
You know damn well that we are BY FAR the most talented team in the country. Hell, several NFL teams would trade for our roster right now. If we had even a HALFWAY decent coach, LSU would not have lost a game in 2005, 2006, 2007, or this year. We MAYBE would have lost 1 last year to Florida, but it sure as hell wouldn't have been by 30+.
For the past five years, our talent alone has won 50 games IN SPITE OF our "coach". Accepting 2 losses in any of those years is just plain settling. LSU is the best, and every day we settle for Miles, is another day keeping us from our potential of total world domination.
Sincerely,
ranter Nation

its amazing that our former coach actually lost 16 games and got his clocked clean about 7-8 times: 31-0,45-16,44-15,41-9.
After reading some of these dumb bastards, you'd swear we must have had some 65 game winning streak.

Yeah, but remember, Saban left Miles the best program in the history of the world when he left. Saban had to start the program from scratch, that's why he didn't win the 65 in a row. It was all part of the process, aight?

I remember that. I remember the board having their emergency session about perhaps dropping football to D II since their were hardly any players, no real stadium to speak of and no real fanbase. He indeed built LSU from scratch.

I'm still waiting for an answer to my Stoops and Carrol question. Doesn't look like i'll be getting one.

well, answer me this question...
What do you think will happen first?
Saban haveing a 5 loss season, or Miles winning the SEC championship?....Lets make it interesting take your pick 4 or 5 losses...

I really don't know the point of this question, but i'll go with Miles winning an SEC championship...probably next year.
And i still haven't gotten an answer to my Stoops/Carrol question.

very true...gotta win the big ones, been a few years since this happened...starts to look like a trend...Gonna be until next year that we play those big ones again then everyone will quite down..but until he does, he kinda deserves some critizism, LSU isnt a job you can just get "comfortable" in....It just looks like he is settling in and not working as hard, the team looks sloppy with penaltys and mistakes all the time, doesnt look like a very well coached team...Thats apart of his job and he is paid very well to have his job done...
That's what pisses me off. He's a pretty decent coach but when he is not instilling the discipline that a team needs to be successful and not showing any emotion on the sideline it just dissapoints me. Where in the hell have the Lesticles gone? He is just sitting comfortable collecting those checks settleting for a good enough team.

I've been trying to figure out for the past 3 days how the possibility of being 10-2 with this team is a "downward spiral". I'm still working on it. I'll let you know what I find.
Cause Rantards are not smart and have little grasp of the reality of College Football.
Don't you know if you don't win every football game by 50 points, then the coach sucks and should be fired!

My response: a good coach is deep enough that a "few" players do not derail a team like it did last year.
like bob stoops this year?
or pete carrol with a freshman qb, losing 2 games?
tressel is struggling with his all world qb.
mack brown always lost to oklahoma til he had an elite qb.
expectations with some of you people are crazy. and the fact that it is only miles that you people see fault in is ridiculous.

Personally speaking, going 10-2 is great. The thing is, your two main rivals for conference supremecy are each finishing their second straight 12-0 season. I know it makes me wonder if we are falling from the top of the mountain.

I'm still waiting for miles to win a big game since 2007 but hey, that's just me.
We've beaten a bunch of shite teams this year, nothing more.
You act like 2007 was a hundred years ago. And just because none of the opponents this season weren't undefeated, doesn't mean we didn't have good wins.
There are many teams that wished they could beat the caliber of teams we have.
Hell.. I bet Pete Carrol wished his team accomplished what Les' team has. I imagine if you or most of the other Rantards were USC fans, you would have either killed yourselves, or Carroll would have been fired Loooooong ago.
Man, I'm glad I'm a realist and not a ranter.

And if we make decent half time adjustments and don't sit on a 4 point lead we probably win the game too. We let them run down our throats.
Right. LSU just laid down and let Alabama win the game because no adjustments were made. The loss didn't have anything to do with injuries, poor officiating, or that Alabama is a good team that was playing its asses off too to win the game, right?
Somebody let me know when the space shuttle carrying the negatigers returns to Earth.

Auburn wasn't a big game? They're 7-3 and we shite stomped them. Peach Bowl?
Pretty sure Pete Carrol would consider that Washington win a big one.
And yeah, winning in Athens is nothing to write home about. We always beat UGA on the road.
And we won back to back day games this season. That doesn't happen every season.
