Production is production. You can’t change the definition to fit a narrative. Yes Tari was a better defender, he guarded and played a different position. Again you do the same with the Cam comparison, throw out all the stats you don’t like and lean into one or 2 argumentative numbers. On top of that you ignore that all your comments about the comparison were just proven false. Cam has a higher assist% and attacks the basket more while their 3 point attempts% is almost the same. Again you promote false narratives.

How many times are you going to move the goal post? It’s gone from pure athleticism to draft position to production to efficiency to a couple of defensive numbers for players who don’t play the same position or guard the same volume and skill sets. You’re out of runway and still haven’t made a successful argument plus you’ve conveniently omitted Naz Reid from the topic.

incorrect, the stats i used, like box plus minus and VORP and market value are by nature inclusive of offensive and defensive production. tari eason is a hugely more valuable player. this is objectively true.
you, by contrast, listed a buunch of offense-only stats to compare thomas and eason. this ignores, for example, that eason is a great rebounder. astute basketball fans know rebounding is important.

zero.

This
if you pay attention to what we are discussing, it is comparing last year with this year in terms of talent and production. naz reid was not on last year's team
please pay attention.

Wrong, I brought up Naz and Cam to debunk your assertion that draft pick position automatically proves a player is better so you’re moving the goalpost again. And you’re wrong about +/- as well, that has a lot more to do with the team than the individual. Again you’ve thrown out every other statistic and tried to elevate a specifically selected and argumentative one over a dozen or more tangible numbers. “Please be honest.”

i am skeptical those would work for the reasons i just stated, having to do with lack of talent.
Those suggestions also came with reasons of why they would work better than what we are currently doing. I am skeptical you actually read the thread

the reason you cant quote me making that claim is that i never made it.

zero stats have been thrown out. in fact the offensive numbers you listed are included as factors in the more broad VORP and market value stats.
let me try to steer you back on track. this team is shite. they do not have close to the talent last year's team did, so they cannot expect to play at the same level.
you say they were both ranked 8th last preseason. that means shite. this years team is not close to that. and last year's team was better. this team has very little talent. last year's team had quite a bit, including a first rounder. this year, the best player on the team will not play in the NBA.
if this team had pinson, eason and murray starting, and they lost this much, we could say it is a coaching failure.
but the guys we have now are small, cannot shoot, and cant finish.

i found those reasons unconvincing. because the talent isnt there.
i could read them again and they would still be unconvincing. these guys cannot shoot, or create good shots. they also lack transition finishers and a myriad of other talents.

Let me address that post point by point…

“but the guys we have now are small”
2021-22 roster average height 6-6

presumably this is efton reid, whom LSU lists at 7 feet.
LINK
please try to do better research
its also good to have big guards in the modern game. hannibal, hayes, hill, these guys are short, not like brandon murray who is 6'4 and thick.

Hannibal and Hayes are 6-2 and 6-3.

both LSU and gonzaga list reid at 7 feet. your site, sports reference, does not have reid on campus and has probably never met him or measured him.
LINK
i agree the schools tend to inflate the measurements, but if we are gonna compare heights, lets not shop around for the ones that fit our narrative. lets use the school's listed ones.

“My site” is universal and connected to the NBA site. You’re sitting here arguing over an inch that changes nothing to the overall length of the front line comparisons. Typical you

well it does if you are averaging their heights and you already inflated hannibal or hayes and reid
plus last year they had, for example days, who was a hoss at a muscular 245, compared to say, fountain, who is tall but is 20 points lighter and presumably far weaker than days.

No it doesn’t, 1 inch doesn’t offset 3 sets of 2 inch differences for other players.

Try to use a standardized form of comparison and stop searching the entire internet to find incorrect data to support your already debunked BS. Thanks
