LSU is the only one that has a following outside of their local region. There are no Tech plates in Texas or Mississippi. I'd have to diagree with you there.
I disagree with you sir. I've lived in Little Rock and had LaTECH watch parties when they were on, as well as in Austin, TX. Just because I didn't pay more for my license plate than you did doesn't mean I don't follow Tech........it just means I'm not an idiot who throws money away.

I haven't gotten that from this thread at all. What I have gotten from the thread is that it is OK for someone to go to another school in the state and support LSU, just as it is OK to got to LSU and support LA Tech. The argument I always hear from Tech and ULL extremist is that if you go to either school, you shouldn't support LSU, which is ridiculous.
You're probably right. I think the thing that pisses us off is when Tech and ULL grads support LSU and do not support Tech and ULL.
I used an analogy earlier about Tech being a convenient store next to the Wal Mart that is LSU. It is OK for the majority to prefer Wal Mart over our little store, but it should piss you off to see your family going to Wal Mart too. Make sense? That's where the resentment for LSU comes from.

"They don't ban you because you never call them on their BS."
Perhaps, or it just might be cause I'm able to make my point without getting in everyone's face.
"...I've just never had the urge to post a reply to those crazies."
Since you visit there and never reply there, we can assume you "never call them on their BS" either....right. Easy to take shots here when you seem not willing to open yourself up to the heat there, huh.

I'm talking about Texas license plates made by Texas. Not when you drive your car into Texas and happen to have a Tech plate on it.

Whatever buddy. I don't reply to them because I don't have the stamina to sit there and defend LSU from all of their conspiracy theories so I don't even try. How do you defend a position like "LSU doesn't in fact try to hold ULL down" when they won't even acknowledge that their school name is ULL and you can only tell them they are crazy before it just gets too repetitive. They won't change their minds and you know that.
As for getting in everyone's face---you just let them make any kind of ridiculous statement and apparently don't care to challenge them much less get in their face. I watched you post in a thread where they started stating that ULL is in fact an academically better school than LSU and you didn't say a thing. Their whole theory was that only the people that attend ULL know that it's a better school. Talk about the most retarded thing I've ever heard. That's delusion at it's finest, but I'm not about to start debating them. First off, I'd get banned and you know that, and secondly you can't slow those crazies down.

"We adore our Tigers over here and pull for our Cajuns to do well."
And that's how it should be. I'm a LSU guy 1st, but that doesn't prevent me from pulling for the Cajuns or Tech or the Cowboys or any other La. school. A few hot heads in the stands or on a campus or on a sports forum is not going to make pull against young guys most of who are Louisiana guys just like me.

In a nutshell:
LSU = big brother
LTU = snot-nosed little brother always running his mouth about whipping big brother's a**, only to go off yellin' to mama whenever big brother gets hold of him.

Or perhaps Rocky and Appollo... any given day, you never know.
There was a time when Tech (me included) ran its mouth to LSU fans about football. Mostly the early 90's and late 90's. But LSU found them a coach in Saban and has never been the same. You don't hear Tech fans running their mouth anymore. LSU has truly been an elite team in the past few years.

Not a bad analogy.

The 90s were for the most part the lost era of LSU football...truly a time for many schools' fans to run their mouths.

Agreed, $aban was the right man for the right job at the right time...but LSU provided him the resources to have the success he had.

Particularly with Coach Miles surpassing even what $aban did with $aban's players. Whether its VaTech, LaTech, TexTech, or any other Tech, don't hear a lot of fans outside the Bammers begging to play the Tigers. I believe he's on a mission to take the program back to the top of the CFB mountain, if not in '09, then watch out for 2010.

I'm sure it will be this year. Tech only schedules LSU's national championship teams.

Hell, even the local McDonalds gives offers 4 free tickets to anyone buying a #1 quarter pounder meal prior to a game. The dude who counts the number of people in the stadium obviously has a crack problem!

"I watched you post in a thread..."
Let me see if I have your complaint with me right...you and I are on a Cajun forum and they say something bout LSU that you take serious issue with but you, for whatever reason, say nothing and you are pissed at me cause I said nothing too. That bout it? You win...shoot me!
Lets see if we can find something to agree on:

I went to Tech my first two years (85-86) and transferred to Louisiana College. (LSU just refused to have a religion department, which was my major at LC haha). I loved Tech, LC, and love LSU.
Tech, despite what some have posted in this thread, does not suffer from a lack of sports achievement. Others have mentioned football players of the 1990's, but what about All-American Walter Johnson in the 1980's? Not to mention Karl Malone and Terry Bradshaw. I know that was a long time ago, but still it's relevant to this discussion.
I will always pull first for LSU, but have no problem with Tech being successful.

You will get banned quick if you go the Ragin pagin and refer to ULL by their name. Be sure to use UL or Univ. of Louisiana not their name less you be banned. ULL is a bigger wannabe than Tech.
Maybe that's why I've been kicked off. I either refer to them as ULL or just "Lafayette."

I went to Louisiana Tech and LSU
I also laugh at these threads that say Tech people hate LSU
I live in a town close to Tech and has a ton of Tech Fans. THey also like LSU
If this LSU hatred is such a fact how come in my dily life I don't encounter it in the middle of TECH country

Can't speak on behalf of Tech. But I'm a ULL grad and bleed purple and gold. There are tons of Tiger fans in Lafayette. The second largest fan base city in Louisiana, behind Baton Rouge. We adore our Tigers over here and pull for our Cajuns to do well. Tech does get on my last nerve, though. Must be the fact that they lean towards Cowboys over Saints. Their colors suck wet nuts too......
Ok I went to Tech and they are my number one like i have said before, but i did grow up in south louisiana and pull for lsu. Thats not the point of the post threads like this have been on this board time and time again. Reality is that its about 70-30 Tech fans who dont like lsu. They should pull for their own school over another one. Just like ULALALa should pull for their school. But you can like more than one team.
Thats not my point....PLEASE DONT EVER SAY THAT They lean more towards cowboys to Saints in North LA. I can tell you by my show we get about 10 Saints calls to every Cowboys phone call. This whole myth that North La likes the cowboys is insane. In NE LA We still get the saints games on sunday. From Minden to Shreveport is where they put the cowboys game on.

70/30? I guess I just don't see this. I think the average Tech fan does not view LSU as the enemy because well they rarely interact. It is easy to be fans of both because different conferences etc etc. I think it is much different dynmaic thatn LSU/TULANE or even LSU/ULL

Now I would agree with that

I always pull for La Tech win they are not playing LSU, I don't know why people in Ruston hate LSU. But I can tell you I hate UL with a passion.
