On instagram I see some top football players every day posting some screenshot of an app that we can send them $$ through. Even Devin White did it a few days ago...No Devin I’m not sending your internet panhandling arse any cash I think you’ll be fine

Isn't that what the NFL is all about?

Hopefully the NCAA doesn’t see this. I’m sure this is against the rules somehow

You certain that's an LSU player and not someone trying to capitalize on their names? Reason I ask this is because Devin White has absolutely no reason to ask anybody for money. By now he has gotten a big payoff from an agent. That's what agents do when they sign a near future top 10 first round draft pick. So, either these Instagram profiles are not players or someone is full of lying bull shite.

Yes I’m sure I’m 100% not following some fake Instagram accounts. I’m not an idiot

Justin Jefferson and Kary Vincent are a couple of other guys who did the same thing. Just to name a few

quit snitching then. if you see them do it shoot them a message that accepting money is against ncaa rules and could make them ineligible

doesn't matter for Devin White. You can send him all the money you want.

is it against the rules if it's just random handouts? Genuinely curious.

Not shocked that this is occurring, it's something of an internet culture thing. I remember some story of a guy living in the Garden District in Nola, without a job. He set up a gofundme, and was living on handouts. Had some story about being an artist or aspiring writer.
It's said people at intersections can make a good dollar, now you can beg internationally.

Not saying the accounts are fake, just wondering if these accounts are actually created and operated by the players themselves. Just doesn't make much sense for Devin White to be asking for money when I know there's got to be several hundred sports agent that would love to sign him to a contract and loan him a couple hundred grand until he signs with a team. As concerning players still on the team and with eligibility I don't know if accepting money from fans would violate some NCAA rule. I know players cannot use their name or likeness to 'make' money. Like being paid to be in a video or an advertisement or something where their face is being shown. This came up not long ago when 2 couple LSU players were seen in a rap video. It also became an issue a few years ago when some college players were featured on a calendar. (don't recall what team they were with) The issue was the calendar was to be sold but if it was given away there wouldn't have been a problem.

I see what you’re saying. Yes they are created and operated by the players themselves that I’ve mentioned. I agree it doesn’t make sense especially in regards to a player like Devin White. Internet panhandling is very frustrating to me. But I’m sure Devin was doing it more as a joke possibly. He posted it on his birthday. Justin Jefferson just straight up said “he was a poor college athlete.”

Any of those guys asking me for money would be like the Incredible Hulk asking an 80 year old woman to open a jar of pickles.
