I know for a fact Crowton was in the box. Can't remember about Chavis though.

I think it has more to do with WHO the coaches are than WHERE they coach from. Kragthorpe and Stud have this offense clicking and in sync. They looked confused and lost with Crowton calling the plays.

Our oline is blocking better. This makes everything better. Our qb's are more mature {5 yrs}. Everyone wants to blame Crowton but all you have to do is look at the oline. You same people wanted to run Miles out of town until we beat Bama last year. You can see how much the team improved at the end of the year and they have contiued to improve. they were getting better even with Crowton.

Simplifying the offense, so Krags influence.

Krags made the reads for the pass plays less complicated. He taught them in a way that made sense to the QBs. I believe Crowton was not able to do this. (See Maryland).

All of the above. LSU seems to do best in the 4th quarter, so IMO it's a smash mouth offense that picks up the first downs, backed by a great defense that keeps them in every game. Coupled with good special teams play and strong conditioning, it's a good recipe....

They were getting better because Miles relieved Crowton of his duties. I dont' have a link and I'm not going to find it but it's been talked about a lot that Crowton said that last year wasn't "his" offense

So true.

Mauck and Flynn had their WOW moments, but mainly they were asked and coached to manage the offense and be efficient. Lee this year is basically doing the same thing. Don't turn it over and put the defense in a bad spot. Having Krags and Stud coach them like this has been the key development in the offense this year.

Mauck and Flynn both turned the ball over way more than Lee has so far this season. He has been a true "game manager." The other 2 were more risk/reward.

1. Kragsthorpe: The biggest reason for offensive improvement. His illness and resulting use of Stud as OC and playcaller has worked

thats stupid.

I will reserve my opinion until we have a game that is very close going into the last 10 minutes. then we'll see clock management, play calling, etc. so far, we have out-talented everyone, not necessarily out-coached. we'll know soon enough i think.

What it boils down to is this season LSU has an offensive identity. The last couple of seasons were a maddening mix of offensive styles that require a lot of practice to be good at if focused on solely in practice.

As a previous poster stated, LSU is an old-school, "I" formation behemoth coming right at you, that occasionally fakes your jock off with play-action.

If you have the horses and the kahonies to run such an offense, then by God you do it. It's up to the defense to stop it.

But Stud and Chavis are up in the pressbox too ... Since when does LSU do this? NEVER!!!

I'm guessing you haven't been an LSU fan very long.
