Beating a dead horse....
1. Disciplined at the plate
2. Better management of the pitching staff
3. Not having players having to look at their coach having an anxiety attack when games are tight. Be strong for your young men

I'd like to see them not just go through the motions of mid-week games.
Mainieri always seemed to drop more of these than he should. These games count but he seemed to coach them like exhibitions.

I’d love to see a pitcher on a short leash instead of giving up 5 runs before you get the bullpen going.

Actually we had come from Smoke ball. You can't expect a singles hitter to knock it off or over the wall.
