Bottom line coaching philosophy: "Let 'er rip!" and then recruiting like heck, but then wondering: what do you do with all those great classes?

Les Miles is still looking for that coaching identity. Its only been 5 years here at LSU. Offense, Defense, special teams. Dunno yet. Will know in another 5 years, hopefully.

SO....TheBob584 you just can't wait to get one of Jimmy Sexton's second rate or "Lower Tier" coaches to LSU can you?

I don't care about agents. I want the best coach possible.

These second rate, or lower tier coaches you refer to....What would you consider Miles when he came from Okie State? His claim to fame was beating Big Game Bob twice.

No you don't. You complain about 3.8 mill per year, yet have no idea how much money Big Les has brought into LSU in the past 5 years.

And "The Best" will cost you over 5 Mill per year.

Miles isn't a Jimmy Sexton client. You are in Way the frick over your head I can see. You are looking at Tommy Tubervile, Houston Dale or Tommy Bowden..at best..something in that range.

If that makes you happy fine..

at his best he gets his teams to play with confidence and has balanced offenses with good special teams

I thought his hallmark at Ok state was getting less talented teams to compete well with better programs (esp OU)... been disappointed that there has been a fall off in toughness the last year or two

Hope we see a return to that this year... if not his hallmark would be underachieving for the last three years

For fricking up winnable games by not knowing how to make key decisions in crunch time.

Please explain how "Big Les" is responsible for bringing all this money into LSU the past 5 years.

Apparently I am in way over my head because I don't know what the frick you are even talking about. I don't care about Jimmy Sexton, Or Tubberville, or Nutt, or Bowden.

Miles was the beneficiary of a loaded football program when he arrived. It made him look very good. Now what?

And it was also a very well-coached, loaded football program. And it made CLM look very, very good for most of 3 seasons. And then reality began to assert itself under CLM's watch. I liked unreality better, but if he can't pull things together this year, start properly using his team talent, and start beating more SEC teams... LSU and he are both toast.

Do you remember the show: The Greatest American Hero? Where the guy finds a super hero costume, but he doesn't have the instructions on how to use it?

That's pretty much what we got with Les:

That's funny, I don't care who ya are.

Before things got ugly, he was known for gutsy playcalls and almost always pulling them off. It was pretty remarkable, his success rate on 'trick' plays.
