What is going on, why is the LSU fanbase divided?

Is it just me, or is there a growing rift in the fan base?

Yes, those younger than 25 years old are football illiterate. Those over 25 years old know more about football.
It basically boils down to that.

Or the old geezers think they know everything when they are just being stubborn to admit what is happening.

Things are finally going to boil over when Florida comes to town. One half of the stadium will yell "GEAUX!" and the other half will sit in silence and flip them the bird.

The issue is that there is a group of half empites who always think our team is not good, and the half fulls who think we have a good team. I think we have a chance for a real good team this year -- which pisses off the half empties because they'd prefer to be right about not having a good team instead getting behind our kids and coaches and creating an optimistic vibe.

my big problem is the lack of killer instinct. Im not asking to win by 40 every game but id like to put away teams with less talent and pound them. We haven't done that yet this year. Id be fine with one let down game and id like to see improvement from our oline and i have yet to see that.

Playing Auburn, Bama, UGA and UF will unite the fanbase, one side or the other.
We will find out how good we are, coaching, QB's....defense.
There will be agreement then.

I actually think you have the cause and effect backwards. The people who trumpet their own "positive attitude" tend to insist on always being contrary. I don't think anyone is unhappy that we are 3-0. But to not recognize that elements of the teams' play, whether we win or lose, ARE going to be problematic in future conference games is simply pulling the wool over your own eyes. I've found myself being much more critical of LSU as a result of such self-imposed blindness of faith.

it would be united if we were 0-3. im pretty sure everyone is happy we havent lost but part of the fanbase sees majors issues that will cost us games against the ugas, ufs and bamas of the world

Tell it like it is brother. You see things no one else sees. You are a maverick. Thanks for being here and telling us everything that is wrong. Post again in the future cause you are smarter than the average bear.
