Any opinion on a remotely close hotel for the game?

The last time I went we stayed in some small town a little ways from Gainesville. I don't remember the name of the town but if I did I would tell you to stay in Tallahassee. I felt like I had walked into a remake of the movie Deliverance. It was scary.

ETA: I think it was Alachua. We went to a bar and they had a sign up outside saying they had Daquiris. Well, I think it was a ploy to get some vising LSU fans in their so they could look at our "purty mouths". Those daquiris were nothing like a daquiri. Just horrible.

LINK

A lot of these could be booked, if so, expand your search to include places towards Ocala to improve your odds.

The pre-game tailgating is not all that great. I rank many other schools above them. The Purple Porpoise is kinda cool.

Exactly what he said.

I've been there once, started drinking at 6 or 7 in the morning and I think I was the only one on campus getting my party on until a few hours before gametime at the Porpoise.

"I had seats next to their student section in 98 and 2002. 98 sucked but 2002 was so sweet. I loved yelling at them as they were leaving early in the 4th quarter."

I was at that game in 98 too. We were probably in the same section. Had some kid behind me in my ear the whole game, and it wasn't like they blew us out. It was a pretty competitive game even though we sucked that season. I'm sure the 02 game was a blast.
