What input would you provide the LSU fan council?

I realize this thread will have some interesting responses, but what do you think the Athletic Department is doing right and what are they doing wrong? What suggestions do you have?

Yes specifically the student section should be fixed. The crowd has been great the past couple of games though.

All half-time on-Court fan challenge games should simply be replaced with a Joe Alleva dunking booth.

So let’s say you are Alleva’s supervisor and you are meeting with him to provide feedback on his job performance - what do you tell him he has to improve on? What are other guys in his position doing better than him?

I'd start by asking Joe if he's ever eaten in the PMAC.

The horse is gone. Outta the barn.

Corporate sales + Too Big of a stadium (by 15k) + Save the Oaks + Area development + tailgate restrictions = Horrible traffic/parking delimma.

Combine that with Tigers on TV all the time, and the best days are behind us.

Better opponents at home are the only way forward, and that will mean only marginal improvement

Season tickets DO NOT make sense for most people.

You eat waaààay too much money, can't hardly get face value for the games you opt to see on TV at home (which represents significant loss of money due to TAF fees), and you can just buy the best 2 or 3 games for less money than the premium you pay to sit in same seats by same people each game you attend.

In other words...just deal with it as is, or watch from home.

Before re-arranging things they need to reinstall some of the seating. The leg room is wildly inconsistent in different spots in the arena. In my season tickets up in the 300s I'm pretty crammed in and could use an extra inch or two of leg room in order to sit comfortably in my seat. And I'm only 5'10" 11". Other areas Ive sat in recent years had far more leg room.

Atleast for basketball, make the first 4 rows center court students then behind the basket. Make a honest effort to get students to go. Priority points same for women’s games. Free food also helps. Lastly what are the long term plans for the pmac? Can you use it for gymnastics volleyball etc and built a basketball arena that puts fans closer on top of the action.

Outdoor smoking sections. No peanut sales during gale forced winds (wife has an allergy; had to leave a football game early one time to prevent her from dying). Bathrooms, TVs, traffic, parking, concessions... yada, yada, yada.

Football tickets have gotten out of hand. I don’t know why more people don’t buy basketball tickets. Way cheaper in the long run.

I
As noted, we had a very specific incident occur. I don't know how strong the winds actually were that night or what arbitrary number would be feasible for such a policy, but I do recall the peanut shells/peelings were everywhere. It was horrible and we had to leave early in the second quarter or else risk a trip to the ER. Out of 100,000 people I'm sure we weren't the only ones.

Yet, me smoking a cigarette in some secluded area is more detrimental and offensive somehow.

Isn't LSU a smoke-free campus? If so, then I don't think they will change the policy and allow smoking at athletic events. I'll say this, I've been to every football stadium in the SEC with the exception of Mizzou, and I've never seen so many people puffing away at football games than I have at LSU. Can't smokers not indulge their filthy habit for just a few hours? It's disgusting.

In PMAC...move media to new digs in a 300 section. give students those seats.

get rid of Aramark ASAP. Lower concessions costs.

Continue pursuing beer sales for all areas of LSU stadia.

Get rid of Nikki Fargas and hire someone who can recruit AND coach.

Abolish tradition fees altogether and factor that $$$ into costs of the tickets.

Have they picked the fan council yet? I clearly told them I was a Nega-O, surprised they haven’t picked me

This, everywhere it's been done they've increased profits. Better for fans, better for LSU, win-win.
