I think the conditions for Miles to be on the hot seat would have to be something of the following:

He waits and dicks around (like he's doing now) and has to settle for some 2nd rate def coord as his choice b/c he took too long. LSU loses anywhere from 3 to 5 games next year, and does it in the same fashion as this year...getting blown completely out of most of them. At that point in time, Miles will be on the hotseat. I'm not saying fired necessarily, but he will be at the point that if it even resembles the same thing in 2010, then he will be fired mid-season.

Over the next three years. What would the answer be. This is a theoretical question and I know that is not twelve games so just play along.
With something like 4 in a row top 10 (2 of them top 5) recruiting classes over the last few years, he should be fired.

Yes, and those are the correct years. Then he won the SEC championship every year after that from 71-79 and 3 NC's. I think the way football is today coach Bryant would have been fired during those years.
Different era and different time. The BAHR wasn't being paid 4 million dollars to shite all over the program and leave it in a shambles.

Your analogy to Bama football in the 60's sucks almost as much as Bama itself.

There's your answer. This isn't the late 60's and the landscape of college football has changed greatly in the past 4 decades. No coach at a major program could endure that record in this day and time.

He will be FIRED like any other coach. It would take 2 seasons of mediocrity or one disaster next year for him to be shown the door.

I think you're right. Isn't that interesting the way college football has changed. Much more money in the game today

What if Lil Nicky leaves Tuscaloosa to become the HC at Notre Dame at the end of next year? Geez, anymore dumb questions you want to ask?

Miles would probably get fired.

Two six win seasons, which generally means only 2 or 3 wins in the SEC would not be acceptable anymore.

That doesn't mean he should get fired, I just think he would.

But to be fair, there are 12 SEC teams, and 6 of them have legitimate hopes of going to the SEC Championship on a regular basis, which means going more than once every three years is very tough and would demonstrate real conference dominance.

These teams are typically the representatives from their division of the SEC. The West is a bit more open, with Miss St. and Arkansas sneaking in once in a while. The point is that in the current state of the SEC, no one team is likely to attend the SEC Championship game every other year.

We'll just hire Nick Saban back.

I think if he gets a sound DC and we are back competing to get into SECCG next year, then he's good. If not, he'll be gone in 2 years.

He might get fired after that first 6-5. Really, with the talent he has and the money he makes, I dont think 6-5 will cut it. a second 6-5 year, he is gone. I dont care if Bear did it.

Just in case your "what if" didn't give it away? Thanks for the tip, Aristotle.

I actually do feel retarded for spending my time and money to go to every single home game and to Auburn after the product they put out on the field in return.

2010? 2011? I don't think so. He's got the 2009 season to turn this thing around or he's a "Gern Pecern." Too many HU's (Higher Up's) and Alumni aren't going to let this get out of control if the problems of 08 aren't corrected next year.....
