What if LF7 was a LB

Was listening to a podcast recently. I believe it was Jordy. But they were basically saying how LF7 kinda bends the knee in a room to the freak athlete that Devin White is. They said DW is essentially fournette 2.0 bigger, stronger, faster, better.

Not many guys are 6’2” 240 run a 4.4-4.5 etc….
But these are 2 of those people.

Devin started as a RB and ended up the greatest LB in LSU history. He is an all pro and looking like the best Lb in the league right now.

As of now it seems like Devin White will have the better career. But what if LF would have made that shift to LB. seems like there is more of a premium on the LB position than the RB position in the league. LBs I feel last longer than most RBs.

Still probably would've went top 10 in the draft. He and Devin White are basically clones.

IMO Devin could end up being the greatest LB in NFL history. People are already comparing him to Ray Lewis

It was an option but he was too good at tailback.

that's similar to how we lost Marshall Faulk to SDSU, whoever was recruiting him wanted him to play safety here

LF7 wasn't tough enough for that position.

I got ripped on here when I suggested White may one day be considered with Ray Lewis as the best LB to ever play the game. Barring injury he’s on the way to a hall of fame career. You just don’t see his size/speed/strength/instincts combo. I’d love to know just for laughs what kind of insane return Tampa would ask for him in a trade. He just about single handedly beat the Saints last year in the playoffs.

Yet he plays RB which is also brutal on the body in NFL.

Frick off

Many here felt Kenny Hilliard should have played LB and may have had a longer NFL career.

recruiting stories at the time weighed the issue of NFL career longevity at LB to that of a RB. It was also rumored that Bama wanted him but with Derrick Henry they did not need him and would make him a LB if he so desired. Obviously he did not so desire that at Bama, LSU, or anywhere else.

Ray Lewis was no doubt great but he isn’t even in the Top 10 of the the greatest to ever play the LB position.

You can think otherwise, but I’ve seen people like Derrick Thomas and Derrick Brooks were both better as was Butkus, Bell, LT, Hendricks and others ruin college and NFL.

Had Thomas lived longer, he would have been the GOAT. That guy was just a cut above.

I think LF was never and will never be the freak athlete White is, and LF is a freak athlete in his own right.

But if the both had played LB, Devin would have been the better LB and if they had both played RB, Devin would have been better there too.

Funny how your post is an entire dissertation but you're too lazy to say Leonard Fournette.
