I get what u r saying. There are always gonna be people who want Miles gone no matter what he accomplishes. That's true in the case of most coaches at major programs. You can't please everyone, but I think the main problem is that everyone sees how special this team is this year. It's just being held back by a combo of QB play and play calling. There needs to be a change on both of these fronts IMO, but Les appears too stubborn to do so. The fact that he doesn't appear to be attempting any sort of change, shows his pigheadedness, arrogance, or stupidity.
This team has the potential to be very special. An opportunity like this doesn't come around very often. No one wants to see all of this talent and effort go to waste due to one man's unwillingness to make necessary changes.

I guess if Jefferson suddenly started playing well we could still bitch about option plays. But the question is serious. Is there any way to satisfy Tiger fans? I doubt even another Crystal Ball would satisfy the Saban nuthuggers on this board.
What is your point? As long as they bitch so do you. As far as JJ goes. I was one who defended him last year with the young excuse. This year that is no excuse. He has the right tools. Though the receivers are botching a few passes here and there he still has the right people to be great. I firmly believe that most would be happy to see anyone step up and play qb no matter who it is. Someone will always find something to bitch about. Even the coach does. So the people who think that everyone should be all rainbows after a football game are clueless. I have never heard a coach say that nothing needs to be improved that his team is right where it needs to be. I feel as if most people are looking for excuses to call our fan base terrible but in reality they just want drama to cry about. If someone was still not happy after a National Championship then why do you give a shite about them anyway? And that question is also a serious question.

Sabans D was pretty damn good.
i seriously wanna punch you in your face right now for being this god damn dumb.
how exactly did he kill sabans defense? was he not supposed to let players graduate? did he kill it by hiring bo pelini? maybe you havent noticed but bo turned out to be pretty damn great. or did he kill it because he made a mistake in 2008? is that why youre whining like a little bitch? no one is allowed a mistake? and are you still stamping your feet and throwing a hissy fit about that.
did he break it by hiring Chavis one year later? before you answer, heres our D now compared to your beloved saban. i hope you get raped by a bear with aids.

We do have improvements, but still severely aching at QB. I don't know if Jefferson will all of a sudden start playing well. I think if Lee went in and played BETTER not GREAT by any means, it would help solve forward production issues. We will be rounded out then all-round.

If JJ had the stats of the #9 qb in the conference I would be making plans to go to the SECCG
9. Cameron Newton-AU JR 4 43 - 68 - 3 63.2 683 9 78 170.8

If LSU was in the Top 100 passing I would be doing the same.
RK TEAM ATT COMP PCT YDS YDS/A LONG TD INT SACK YDSL RAT YDS/G
100 Kansas State 78 48 61.5 647 8.3 73 5 2 11 -57 147.2 161.8
If we were throwing for 160+ and had 5TDs/2Ints, we would be rolling teams right now.

LOL What if I suddenly win the lottery ? What if LM suddenly becomes a good coach ? What if , What if ? WTF

The last time I said what if, was in reference to the Saints winning the Super Bowl...it took 40yrs to see that happen....We don't have that long for JJ.

I think you are missing the bigger point.
The fact is that IF LSU had a better qb, then LM would BE a "better coach".
What else are you hating on Miles for?
The D? NO
ST? NO
Running game? NO
Recruiting (besides qb)? NO
The ONLY thing holding this team back from legitimate contention IS qb play. Thus, blame Miles for being in this position. But, stop with the "LM is a poor coach" BS. LSU would be DOMINANT with even an average qb right now.
And, NEWSFLASH......there will be an EXCELLENT qb on the team in January.
I love JJ and JL. But, they are limited. Simple as that.

JJ has to go undefeated, throw for 300 yards a game and win a national championship to satisfy some of these people. I saw J. Russell complete 21-24 passes for 300 some odd yards and 5 touchdowns with no picks against MSU in 2006 and he was criticized for missing 3 passes. Some qb's will never satisfy a contingent of tiger fans. JJ is sucking it up don't get me wrong but not he has to damn near walk on water to win back a lot of support

Their hatred for all things Miles won't even allow them to consider a hypothetical question.
So I'll answer this for them...
In the off chance that JJ really started playing well and had a "stellar game" against Tennesse, there is large a portion of our fanbase who would begrudgingly watch in utter disgust.
While most everyone around them would be cheeering the turn-around, they would sit or stand there with arms crossed, silently lamenting the outcome.
Then, they would log onto Tiger Droppings and start warning everyone of the dangers of a 5-0 record and the impeding relapse to mediocrity.

If Jefferson starts playing well then we have one less thing to worry about. Last night I went back and watched the first half. Jefferson actually played pretty well. He was killed by several false starts and holds. In fact he had one series where there were two false starts in a row. Then, he completes a pass for a first down, but the play is negated with a holding.
That really hurts his confidence, and then he starts feeling more pressure. Now the lack of production is largely on his shoulders, but I still feel that we need to fix the team mistakes. I wish the best for Jefferson, but I also wish that the coaching staff can find that spark that our offence needs to step up.

What in jefferson's body of work would lead you to believe he will play better?
Posted on 9/28/10 at 7:19 am to faxis
Everybody wants to see him do well

Nothing. And, I do not.
I've stated such. I accept the limitations and said I hope JL gets a shot, though I do not believe he will be a LOT better.
I just accept the OPs hypothetical and do not go to the "pigs fly" crap. That is no answer to his question.
