What if BDP coaching backers and special teams was the problem?

I hate to start a whole new thread about this, but I haven't heard anyone mention the special teams may have struggled this year Bc Pevato doubled up his duties and coached the backers too.

He did a good job coordinating the special teams In 2014 and there was a noticeable drop off when he had to coach the linebackers last season. Maybe if Aranda chooses to coach backers and let Pevato focus on special teams, that unit will improve.

What do y'all think?

Geaux Tigers!

We have had guys whose specialty was special teams, but we have never had a guy who only coached special teams.

I've never heard of a special teams coordinator under miles coaching a position group. I may be wrong

BDP is an excellent LB coach and amazing recruiter.

False. Can't believe how short peoples' memory is on this point. We looked bad or mediocre on special teams in all bout one game in 2014. The one game we shined in was against the special teams unit Peveto coached the year before.

Dude did a good job with linebackers and is an exceptional recruiter. He just is not a good special teams coach.

The job description was STs and half the D line. Don't know what the agreement was with BDP.

No I've been saying this for a while. Other St coaches have assisted on D but BDP was straight up the linebackers coach this year. I didn't want to start a topic on something so trivial, but no one has even considered this thus far.
