The AD job is fundraising and financial stewardship. Mostly. Yes major coaching hires.
Woodward has a local pedigree. Nice guy.
He way over paid Fisher to come to TAM. TAM has/far more financial resources than LSU.
TAM football stadium renovation and TAM new basketball arena investment are a good bit more than LSU current state can do
The Texas economy is so much bigger and better than Louisiana. Eventually TAM will eclipse us unfortunately

Woodward hasn't done anything, but I suppose he hasn't really been presented with decisions that are evident to us fans.
Two things he's done that stand out are giving Orgeron a six-year contract when no one was trying to hire him away from LSU, and approving a huge salary to Pelini when he wasn't in demand, either. He actually did approve the luxurious loge seating at The Box, so he gets credit for that.
He will eventually have to deal with Will Wade when the NCAA comes calling.That should be a proving ground for him.

They have Texas to deal with. LSU has the boosters that support LSU athletics and has a pedigree and history of winning. the state may suck as a whole but big boosters also live out of state
