to teams that huge underdogs? You know like when SABAN loss to ULM.

Conversly how many games were won when LSU was the Underdog?

How many times has Les Miles won two SECCG in three years? I can play this game too. Not to mention two NC's in two three years.

ETA: Penn State 2011 Cap. One Bowl.

People here either have incredible short memories or none at all. I can recall, vividly, Saban getting ripped in the media & here for getting a lead & then pulling in his offense, resulting in some closer than expected wins. Time after time. I can still hear the boos in TS at halftime of the O.Miss game, Eli's first yr, when he sat on the ball to end the half & almost gave the rebs time to come back. Perhaps he has evolved, as many say he a better coach then he was back then. Give CLM the same chance, then.

Saban had no less than 3 losses per year while at LSU, except for the 03 NC year. .

Saban built THREE college programs up to national success and still has a better overall college record than Miles.

LSU was an 8-9 loss team with sucky facilities when Saban came here. Of course his record wouldn't be as good.

Then we lost several players early to the NFL after winning a title resulting in a three loss year. A year in which the fans started turning on him BEFORE the NFL stuff came about.

Saban handed Miles the keys to a well built engine and Miles has done well. But since 2008, after Saban cleaned house in Bama and built it back up, he has a better record across the board than Miles and it's not close.

What's so funny? Michigan State went from mediocre/bad to 9-2 his last year.

He turned LSU from dog shite to a perennial national powerhouse.

And it's blatantly obvious what he's done in Bama.

ULM >>>> all those teams?

Upsets are a part of sports.

When UAB beat LSU was it Sabans fault or was it the primadonna QB who audibled and threw a pick 6?

How many games where LSU was heavily favored have we barely gotten by? If he only had the killer instinct he would be perfect. I wish he had a little Spurrier in him as far as finishing games comfortably. I'm behind The Hat, I hope he learns to adjust to teams now that's he's a member of the 4mil club.

Now that's an intelligent post! If we had more fans who can be miles supporters but not idiots. It's fine to stand behind your coach but he is far far far from perfect. No killer instinct and too soft on players. How teams traditionally lack discipline.

look at the record the last 12 years then get back to me. hardly "national success"

LSU was bad in the late 90's...but i would hardly call it "dogshit". 17 of the 28 (i think) players that went pro under Saban were Dinardo recruits. hardly an empty cupboard that so many claim.

Bama was not a shitty program that Saban "built"

Here's a list of games that were either lost or narrowly won against sub-par opponents where LSU were heavy favorites. I'm probably leaving some out.

2012

Towson +42 LSU won by 16

2010

Tennessee +17 LSU won by 2 (12 men on the field game)

2009

La. Tech +25 LSU won by 8
Mississippi State +15 LSU won by 4 because of Chad Jones
Ole Miss +7 LSU lost by 2

2008

Troy +19.5 barely beat Troy at home
Ole Miss +5 LSU lost badly at home
Arkansas +4.5 LSU lost by 1

2007 (NB4 National Champs)

Kentucky +9 LSU lost in 3OT
Arkansas +12 LSU lost in 3OT

2006

Ole Miss +27.5 LSU won in OT
