Without Jefferson we lose to Bama in November and season is over. LOL if you think LSU is getting a rematch.

That said, no need to shelve Lee like what happened.

I agree, this game as a kid gave me the hate for ole miss that passes any other team, look at the defense on the 69 team, a matchup against the texas wishbone would of been a great game.

2013 at Ole Miss....Mett 3 int. and we lose on a last few seconds drive and fieldgoal....a team we clearly should have beaten

I don't get as foaming at the mouth as some people at Les keeping Lee on the bench on 1/9/12. Lee hadn't shown he could move the offense against Bama and at least JJ could run. While I didn't necessarily agree, I could see the reasoning.

Buddy Ryan said after a playoff loss where he benched Randall Cunningham for Jim McMahon and was criticized: "We weren't moving the ball and I just thought a new pitcher might get us something going."

Occam's Razor (as mentioned on another thread). Make the fewest assumptions and go with the simplest explanation. No need for complicated football jargon. A "new pitcher" might make a difference.

Hell, what did we have to lose?

All this being said, I've lost my enchantment for Miles' "zaniness" since then.

Yes, 1/9/12 changed LSU football in a lot of ways.

Aside from 1/9/12 21-0 it has to be Arkansas in 2007, at the time

Everything we had played for was lost. One of the most fun seasons in LSU history was going to be all for nothing.

But that was eventually erased 1 week later.
