A day game vs Ohio St in 1987 they couldn’t snap the ball because of noise!
I remember this! Done forget, the stadium was a heck of a lot smaller, too!

Billy Canon played football at LSU almost 70 years ago. Anybody who claims Tiger Stadium was at its peak 70 years ago is old and senile.

the 80's. To see the tigers you pretty much had to go to every game. Fans were loud AF and only 80,000. The 80's, not sure about prior years, definitely had a lot to do with the mystique of TS.

Best games I experienced in person:
03 Georgia
07 Va Tech (Complete domination of a highly ranked opponent)
07 Florida (Probably my #1)
10 Bama (DeAngelo Peterson)
12 Bama (even though we lost at the very end)
24 Ole Miss
The magic and mystique of Tiger Stadium is still alive but I agree the Saban years and early Les Miles years just felt different.

Anyone who dismisses the atmosphere from 70 years ago should be spanked and put back in their cradle without a bottle.
You incapable of understanding the crowd's enthusiasm of that era. Much of the enthusiasm in the modern era is for the 'tailgate' experience, not the 'football' experience ===> imho.

The bama game in 2012 was insane until we lost at the end
But as far as constant noise and passion, that game might top the list. Most people don’t put it at the top due to the loss but I’ve been to every home game for a long time now and thats right up there with any of them

The Chinese Bandit, White Team, Go Team and Billy Cannon era!!
It was indeed electric - everywhere - all the time - a season to tell the great-grandkids about !!!! (and they are getting tired of hearing it)
I can still remember the shouts permeating the campus that erupted when the Ol Miss team arrived. - went outside to see what the noise was about.

My father n law returned 3 punts in that game and had a calf injury. Cannon returned for TD and the rest is hissery. My pa n law always told him that he helped him into immortality They were good friends, had the pleasure of eating a couple dinners and watching a few games with him, Cannon, and Johnny Robinson. I was in LSU legend land those times and will never forget it.

I can just tell you the loudest game in my lifetime attending LSU games was USC 1979 and it's not really close.
As far as era's I'd say '95-2000 even though there were no championships I remember more epic noise games in that period - bring back the Magic in 95, Florida '97, the Tennessee, Alabama and State games in 2000 were some of the loudest within a 5 year period I remember.
