it was good. I generally like Herbie in the booth. Musberger, not so much.

I admit I was pleasantly surprised. They did a pretty good job last night.

What was up with is fricking tie?

ESPN has gone out of its way to avoid either school's colors during game coverage after an incident (last year I think) where both commentators where wearing LSU's colors in one form or another. If memory serves one had a gold tie and the other a purple shirt. It was hilarious.

Herbstreit is OK, but not as insightful as Danielson.

Mussberger... a guy with a flair for stating the obvious. At least he is right most of the time, unlike Verne Lundquist, who is totally clueless at best, and wrong at worst. I can't stand Lundquist - he's a bloated gasbag.

Nothing beats Musberger in 2007 while LSU is beating VT by 30 points, every Herbstreit compliment for LSU is met with "oh yeah but there's a team in Los Angeles lead by Pete Carroll that has something to say about that!"

musberger needs to stop mixing neon pink and yellow with a dark suit on national tv

and why did herbie's pocket square match his shirt and not tie? INQUIRING MINDS NEED TO KNOW

I thought Herbie went out of his way to show LSU a lot of respect. He also mentioned spending time with the team the day before and was clearly impressed by what he saw.

Muffburger is pure shite. His Oklahoma/West Coast bias if fricking horrible.

Now, Herbie always does an excellent job. Usually pretty objective. Yeah he's not always pro-LSU, but that's not his job either.

No one beats Gary Danielson though. He does his homework.

I'll take Herbstreit and Musburger any day over Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson

Im sure it was hard for him to do, but he seemed to be on the LSU/SEC bandwagon from the beginning.

I think post game he seemed to be subtly giving excuses for the Oregon lack of quality. He was on the Oregon bandwagon though from the beginning.

his outfit was ridiculous. Which brings me to Jesse Palmer. why does he pull his pants up to his chest and tie his ties 2 feet short?

and nobody is worse than his partner either. He is blind and old with no fricking clue about anything so he just picks one player and sucks his dick non-stop all year. Tebow and Newton are probably creeped out by him.

Quite possibly the worst commentators in CFB. Give me Gary and Todd, please.

Todd Blackledge is by far the best, smartest commentator- he did a great job for the LSU Florida game last year

To beat Oregon tonight, and with their speed, they are going to have to do much more than just run the ball and be conservative and just try not to lose the game on offense." - Herby in the 2nd Q

And LSU lost the lead and had 28 yards of offense

I would say Herb was 100% right at the time...Oregon had us on the ropes for a little while...I didn't feel too good at all.

Great teams are balanced.. it's not rocket science

It was on this show that Musburger came up with his,"You are looking LIVE at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium"...

Sure he's a douche, but he's us oldtimer's douche.

i think musberger also is the guy who started using "downtown" to refer to 3 pointers in basketball
