Yes, and that chance is 0.
What do you mean? The rule has been made even MORE friendly this year and all you have to do is put the ball "in the vicinity" of a potential receiver (I believe it used to be the receiver had to have a good possibility of catching it or some verbiage like that).

Well, let's see. He missed a wide open Randle for a TD on the first drive. Most of his throws were awful. Seemed confused most of the time in the pocket...

JJ has played well this year, but that was the ghost of JJ past last night for most of the game.
He was horribly inaccurate and just made some bad decisions in general. He used to start off games throwing the ball way too hard and high, and thankfully, we haven't seen that this year (until last night).
He did a little better in the 2nd half, but thank God the D, special teams and running backs made plays because it would have been a long night if we needed to pass to win with JJ last night. I was surprised that we didn't see Lee at all. Most of the passes were not even catchable.

It makes a lot of sense. There's a chance the flag won't be thrown. If you get sacked, you lose the yardage anyway and the down. If you don't get the flag, you get the ball back at the LoS.
I dont think encouraging a QB to make an errant throw is better than taking a sack, but whatever.

Mostly because I'm weary of the CONSTANT bickering about JL vs JJ. I mean, in the immediate wake of the game - the SEC Title Game in which LSU completed a 13-0 season by absolutely decimating almost every opponent by many TD's - the Score Board was littered with threads with people whining about the QB situation. It just seems pathological at this point.
I think some folks just can't stand prosperity, they're convinced it's all about to be taken away from them. Probably has something to do with the victim mentality of many mid to lower class southerners. Of course a small group of these bitchers are probably just Miles-haters who are short on things to be outraged about.

The OL underperformed but he made several bad throws with plenty of time to get the ball off. The guy has zero situational awareness, and that was evident when he looked around at the refs not knowing why they blew the play dead at the end of the first quarter.

Quick, name the last 3 times those happened.
Quick, name the last 3 times he threw for over 100 yards.

It is?
Yes, it is.
However, they both need to play. Everyone knows JJ cant throw. Everyone knows Lee cant run. They both need to play to keep teams honest. What happens when our defense/special teams can score?

oline was terrible in this game, everyone looks at stats and says 5-13 30 td he sucks
JJ was not passing well and therefore UGA was stacking the line of scrimage (eight players in the box). This makes it difficult on the blocking and had adverse effect on the OL. This is the same thing that happened the previous two seasons that JJ was the starter. If JJ is on like against Arky it stretches the defense and creates more success for the running game. If JJ is off like last night then it causes many issues. JJ better be on for the NC game or it will be a struggle.

I don't like or dislike either of them
Our QB's have accounted for 24 TDs, 4 ints, and a rating of 152.
Our scoring offense and Passing eff. are both #1 in the SEC.
For a 13 game period, we are scoring 39 pts a game and giving up 10 while playing a Top 5 SOS.
Can we please stop whining like 2 yr olds and be grateful to all coaches and players who have made 2011 the freaking elite season it has become.

Not true. It's often a free option for the QB.
You need to stick to things other than football. You seem to forget the loss of down part, and tossing of a football while being tackled.

largely blaming others for their station in life, pretty common in southern states. Yankees, blacks, mexicans, government, corporate fat-cats, etc, etc. (obviously mostly talking about whites here)
You see it on this board quite a bit with the "ESPN hates us" type stuff. It seems to be important to them that Lee is "getting screwed".

He was just off. Would have at least seen Lee for 1 series in the 2nd quarter.

Agree, especially since the penalty is walked off from the spot of the throw and you lose a down. Grounding is the worst penalty a team can get called for, there is no circumstance where it is a good idea.

Exactly. People blaming the o-line are just making excuses for JJ. It's obvious he can't throw and if the running game isn't working he has no idea what to do. Like was said if the special teams or defense can't make things happen, watchout. That is if Miles refuses to play Lee.

He is trying to brag he has a higher income than you simply because you disagree.

What did JJ do that was so bad in the 1st half?
looked EXACTLY like our putrid QB from 2010. He may not have gotten help from the OLine but JJ didn't do himself any favors. Every time he threw the ball it was overthrown, underthrown, behind or at the feet of his targets

a sack is a "loss of down" as well. His point is, if you get rid of the ball there is a small chance that it doesn't get called...however, I think the risk of interception or a backwards pass once the defender has you engaged is not really worth it, just take the sack.
