What are the odds of finding tickets outside

Preface: we are first timers. Our home team is Penn State but we are squarely in the LSU and anti-Bama camps. We have travelled to games at several different stadiums, mostly in the Big 10, and always got tickets there. Last year, Penn State v Michigan was almost impossible to get tickets, but with PSU undefeated at the time and facing our most hated opponent, it was the biggest game in Happy Valley for a long time.
This looks to be an even more massive deal for LSU, so we are worried.
Stubhub fees are anal abuse. Willing to pay that as a last resort but would rather our money go to the person with the tickets.
What do yall think?

You might find some drunks that will give you tickets.

Going to pay an arm and leg. Base tickets run for $600. Just sold two for $400 a piece lol and that’s a deal!
Ps: I have two other tickets. Otherwise they would not have gotten sold. LSU fans are crazy for not showing up.

Get that wallet ready

Traffick a kid and say he’s your son and an old guy might give you two for free or at least cheap.

4 years ago I found two seats for $100 a piece in the lower bowl about 20 min before kickoff. Luck? Probably but not impossible.

I think you will be able to find some for decent prices close to kickoff

You’ll find some and maybe even for a decent price.

They’ll be available..be patient. Don’t get baited into overspending early. Just before or just after kickoff will yield the best prices.

Unless im missing some sarcasm, i dont think we want to risk that, seems pretty unlikely.

There will be tickets no question. I’m sure you can find one for 150-200 a piece before kickoff.

I've always found tickets outside the stadium no matter how big the game. Just plan on paying $200 a ticket and you should be good. If you're looking for more than 2 then that might be an issue. Ya'll might have to split up

Thanks! If possible we would like to get into the stadium early to experience the pre-game buildup. But to save $150 or so its probably worth waiting.

All the people telling you that you won't find tickets, or that you'll pay $500 either sold their tickets on stubhub, don't go to games, or want you to buy their over priced tickets.
You are certainly taking a risk traveling from far, but if you are smart about it, you'll find tickets for a good price. Even for some huge games I've never paid over face for some tickets.
Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are doing.

Here's all the info you need to know.
1. You have some brass balls for making this trip without tickets, but it should certainly end up saving you at least $150 per ticket. If all else fails you can buy off stubhub right before right?
2. Arrive on campus really early Saturday morning. 8-9 at the latest. Walk around visiting tailgates. Tell people your story and be a cool group. You may get very lucky and someone will hook you up at one of the tailgates.
3. If, after moving around all day, you still don't have tickets, go watch the players and band come down the hill. At that point it's time to get to work. (look at game day times of interest posted here to find those times).
4. Hold your fingers high in the air with the number of tickets you need after the band, and don't put them down.
5. There will be a large number of scalpers in the area, and they will swarm you. They will want stub hub prices, or maybe more. These people will usually look very different than your average LSU fan, I'll leave it at that. Laugh in their faces and move on.
6. The closer you are willing to wait, the cheaper you'll find them. You said you wanted to see pregame stuff (good idea btw) so hopefully you find them sooner rather than later.
