Watch the spring game again! Etling looked better than Harris. Period!
We get it. You like white quarterbacks because you think it means they're smart and good pocket passers.
Its not always reality though.

"Starting quarterback Brandon Harris had a solid day, connecting on 11 of 15 passes for 106 yards.
Harris was 8 of 11 for 56 yards against the No. 1 defense, which is important since there were so many walk-on defenders on the field when the second- and third-team defenses were out there.
Danny Etling was 6 of 12 for 106 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron said the stats weren't as relevant as how Harris handled himself in all situations. In 2-plus years, Harris has gone from a quarterback who couldn't remember the plays to one who is fine-tuning his short passing game while leading the team.
"We're looking for a leader, a guy who can make good decisions, check it down to Leonard, throw the ball to the tight end," Cameron said. "(Harris) completed seven or eight balls to the tight ends in a scrimmage a couple of weeks ago. It's something we haven't done well recently.
"(There were just) two plays he would want back. His last two drives he took us on extended drives. That's the maturity. You make a couple of mistakes and bounce back."
Harris guided the Tigers on a drive capped by a 2-yard TD run by Fournette, who ran eight times for 49 yards, all in the first half.
On the field goal drive to start the scrimmage, Harris avoided getting greedy and threw underneath coverage for a 16-yard gain. That shortened the field for a 42-yard field goal by Trent Domingue.
Harris picked up 9 yards on a read option keeper just before the touchdown and helped position the Tigers closer with a nice throw to D. J. Chark for 11 yards on a sideline route.
"I'm tough on grading myself," Harris said. "Overall I thought I did a good job of understanding (the progressions). "

Until we get to actual game time.....
forwarded to etlings td pass in the spring game followed by his purdue highlights.
I watched everything I could find on etling during the summer when I was laid up sick missing football. I watched the notre Dame game they played as well. Guy has wheels and makes quick decisions and was running for his life behind a pile of shite o line and still made some plays... notre dame purdue in Indianapolis 2014 condensed

The one thing I liked about Etling is the guy is one tough hombre. And he is a very good runner. One of his interceptions bounced off a receivers hands. Cant remember the other. In any case the guy is not timid.
Harris just comes across as so unsure of himself.

He appears to have a set of balls on him. Did very well until they went down and into obvious passing situations. How can you watch that and say he sucks is beyond me...
Idk. Maybe I'm too hopeful

I watched the Spring game. As I recall, Etling completed several nice passes running the second team offense against the ones. It was Harris who did not
That's completely backwards. Etling had two horrible ints

This is ridiculous. It's the coach, doesn't matter who is QB

This is not even close to the truth. Not debatable. Go watch it again.

It does not matter who played better in some spring game. It matters that the coach has players he will not play.

He's unsure of the shite being called from the sideline. He wants to shoot 3s and dunk, and the coach on the sidelines hates to see anyone even think about dribbling it between their legs, passing it behind their backs, or dunking instead of a proper layup.
For as much as Les wants to promote "fun", he sure kills the fun for his guys on offense. I would bet a lot that Fournette would be ecstatic getting 1200 yards and 15 TDs if it meant LSU had a more fun offense that tried to score points instead of slugging it slowly with smash run after smash run.

There have been numerous reports of etling at practice and scrimmages, all of which said "if Harris goes down, we are in major trouble".

LSU has 7 QB's on the roster.
Send in a different one every play.
That should confuse the other team.

If you are telling us that LSU started the season with one incapable qb and he cannot be replaced LSU is screwed and it is still all on the coach.
To go further, if the coach knew he had to have a starter and did not pursue one, he is accountable for that also.

Etling completed passes against the 5'6" walk-on DB,
The revisionist history around here is hilarious

Lindsey Scott is the best option. Etling should be his backup, Harris third.

Our started did so well throwing against shorter dbs.

Lee
Jefferson
Mettenburger
Hatch
Jennings
Harris
18 total years of experience 3 OCs 1 decent passing season.
How many qbs does this man have to kill?
If les miles has imparted his philosophies on a qb they're "LESLIESRIZED" they're DONE.
How does all these qbs play exactly like the other in live games?
I swear Harris Looks like Lee, Jefferson, Hatch and Mettenburger at times. We have seen this movie a 1000 times. We know every line and the ending.
Lsu falling flat on their face.
Just fire the man and lets move on.
