Hanny and Ott brought it up as a way of manufacturing some points and field position.

At first I thought it was a terrible idea but what if he pulls a return off like he did against A&M in ‘15.

Could be the difference if we can keep it close.

There are pros and cons. Yes, Guice gives you a better threat to make a big play, but could you imagine how JACKED those Alabama players would be if they got a shot on Guice as they did on Fournette that year before overtime? However, I think that if they're considering this, they should do it. We're going to need EVERY point scoring opportunity that we can possibly get, and the more opportunities to score that you have, the more likely that you'll score more points.

Considering the KO return has been non existent, most aren't even being returned, I say give Donte Jackson a crack at it.

Big time players make big time plays in big time games.

We ABSOLUTELY should put him and Chark back there.

Returns aren’t just about speed. Dontes vision is terrible.

We didn't use LF and I've never understood it...and can't be persuaded otherwise.
Always, at all times, put the ball in your best players hands as often as possible, period.

Coaches just constantly over think things

You based this opinion off of what exactly?

Dante has returned about 4 kicks in his time at LSU, and he has fumbled twice. Cost us the Florida game last year. He isn't going back there.

Just keep making up complete lies to further your own view point. He's returned 15 kicks and only fumbled once which was against Florida in a play where JD Moore inexplicably slowed down in front of him which actually caused the fumble. LINK

He averaged 20.5 yards a return his freshman season and 23.4 yards a return his sophomore season. CEH has averaged 20.7 this season and Williams has averaged 15.2 over 6 returns his career.

On watching him on returns. He was our KO returned to start ‘15 and he’s returned punts for us.

Mehh.. I really don't think we're giving ourselves an advantage either way. Guice/Chark/Jackson are probably going to have about the same results.

Are we all just picturing what he did to that poor Louisville kicker and thinking that's what will happen every time or something?

You don’t think it’s advantage to get Guice the ball in the open field? Jesus Christ.

Are you talking about the return that he found a crease and broke off a 50 yard return? Yeah that’s a good example. Or maybe this 75 yard return against A&M where he broke 8 tackles.

It takes 1 kid to get over zealous and leave his lane and Guice could break one.

Because coaches have to answer to ADs and boosters as to why they did this and it didn't work out.

The great ones tell those guys to frick off because they know what the correct decisions are and that they don't work all of the time. Most coaches though, are inordinately fearful of the negative outcome and would rather not have to answer for them.
