Robertson, Freeman, Duplantis, and Deichmann are a combined 10-62 (.161 batting average) and LSU is one game away from the championship series.

The big 4 need to produce tomorrow if we want any success. I don't have 100% faith in our bullpen to pull through on pitching alone.

C'mon Tigers!

That is indeed interesting. I have a hard time believing ALL of them will stay in that slump at the same damn time. Nowhere to geaux but up! Thanks for the info!

I'm hoping they get out of it like yesterday. It's not so much Deichmann, but the other 3. Deichmann needs some protection. If not, the dude will get thrown straight trash. Robertson is a great base runner, we need him on for pressure. Freeman has drag bunted all year and hasn't tried once in the CWS. Dup needs 1 or the other in front of him to get on. He's a great situational/clutch hitter

And Kramer's had some good swings, albeit an out is still an out. All 4 have been falling behind early, but they are facing great pitchers what are going into the at bats knowing they have to get ahead, so it's one of the things that make it so hard to win in Omaha, no matter how great your team is.

And IIRC, 8 of those 10 hits were from Duplantis and Deichman... When the two guys guaranteed to have the most plate appearances in a single game are both slumping so bad that they're easy outs for the opponent that's a problem.

Our leadoff hitter needs to bat ninth until he gets his shite togetber.

The difference from my completely uninformed perspective is patience. When Kramer was hitting well he was watching a lot more pitches and looked comfortable. Now he looks like he is just trying to rip the cover off of the first waist high pitch he sees. I like the idea of flipping him and freeman

Duplantis cant be batting that bad. I feel like he gets on base at least 1.5 times on ave a game during the post season. I think he may be my favorite player on the team. (Pap #2 and I am a bro nmo grad deich #3, whole team #4)

ETA: Just saw the post where he has 8/10 of those hits.

He's been taking first pitches the last two games, but they've been strikes. Same for Cole.

Tbh I've thought about flipping him and Freeman before when Kramer has struggled, imo, with his approach at the plate. It's too late now though. All you're going to do at this point is mess with not only his psyche but every player who looks at the lineup, feels like Kramer's done everything for this team, and now he's getting dropped? There's no way you make that change now.

TBH, I've never thought Freeman was a good hitter. His approach is off to me and he either pulls the shite out of the ball for a double or he weak pop ups to the right side because he's late and tries to pull everything.

I'd love to see his hitting spraychart over the course of this year.

Those 4 are 1-27 versus Beavers in 2 games.

.037 average.

That's damn hard to do.

Gotta get it together...now!

And if you do that and he commits multiple errors ppl will blame it on his psyche and focus after being dropped down in the order. Leave him at leadoff. Is Cole or Dup guaranteed to be a better leadoff hitter?? Based on what??? They'll be in a spot they haven't been in the entire time LSU has played their best, winning 17 straight and btw they're 3-1 in the CWS.

If that's a concern, play Coomes at First and Slaughter at Short. Problem solved.

We can't afford to play guys who can't get on base in a do or die game.

Wow... Play a freshman who hasn't played short all year in a do or die game in place of your senior leadoff hitter is your answer... The dumbass is strong in you.

He's had this plate approach all year, especially as lsu went on the winning streak. This is nothing new. If 1-2 of the solid contacts he's made in the CWS had dropped for base hits we could've avoided so much of this stupidity.

I'm not a huge KR fan, but the kid has been getting good contact the past couple games, it's just not falling. That's baseball, and I could see him having a big game at the plate tomorrow.

Deichmann, on the other hand, has really cooled off. Even some of his hits have been weak- he barely got it past the drawn in infield against FSU. If you told me going in that we'd have, what, 4 homers in Omaha, and he wouldn't have one, I'd have said you're crazy.
He's the one I want to see break out. We know he can.

He's had a couple huge hits this CWS. He's not going to see much to hit. Period. Watson has been huge behind him and really stepped up into that role.
