crap I forget sometimes this is the rant and any team outside of SEC is garbage and plays a shite schedule. None of their players can match up with SEC players

devine also had 110 yards in 13 carries against OU
in WVU's 48-28 win over Oklahoma in 07. OU had a lot of speed on its defense(NFL players as well).

LSU should win at home, but if WVU brings its A game, LSU will need to make plays and few mistakes to win.

WVU is very solid on special teams-including coverage. Some kicks yesterday went through end zone and Maryland had to take the ball on the 20.

WVU has fumbled this year-and if that happens in TS WVU has no shot.

My best guess LSU 20 WVU 13.

i think defenses will dominate. WVU has a very good run defense and a tough dline.

hey charlie, look at your garbage schedule, you see any ranked teams? you see any perrennially powerhouse teams just having an off year? that's what we have to contend with six or seven times a year. your team plays one or three meaningful games a year and pads it stats.

as for them trying to make plays in open space, we appear to have excellent open field tackling and closing speed. where wv's skill players are usually making the catch and then making a move to slip for yac, it will be wv's players making the catch and immediately get hammered. i will say however that Geno Smith is looking better passing every game this year and i think our young secondary gets burnt a couple of times. hopefully, they won't be for long td's like in uNC game.

the oklahoma game was a good victory for ya'll. it's easy to get up for a couple of games a year, so their is a little boise state advantage to your team in this game. i am sure the game will be much closer than i hope. I just think that if we bought our a game and you brought yours, we beat the crap out of you a la VT in '07.

Yup, our schedule is garbage. Its garbage every year. I am just not sure that is overly relevant to next saturday's game.

Our schedule was garbage when we beat UGA and OU in BCS games in the past five years also. Point being that we hear this refrain from other conference's fans every time we play a good OOC opponent. So far, playing in the BE hasnt been a relevant factor. Our SOS hurts us more in rankings than in individual games.

LSU is legit, I am excited to come down, have been looking forward to it for about 6 months. Staying in NOLA thurs and fri then driving up to BR on saturday. Cant freakin wait!

I am not here guaranteeing a WVU victory or anything like that. I just believe that if both teams bring their A games it will be much closer than you think.

I do like that I have convinced you that our weak strength of schedule doesnt hurt us and that now you believe it will be an advantage for us.

We are not VT, there is a reason they are known as the cHokies. I seem to remember beating them 28-7 a few years back when we were unranked and they were #3 in the nation.

You keep referring to this as if it justifies your team.

NEWS FLASH: rich rod pat white and Steve slaton are no longer there.
Y'all have a good program but if we are going to throw out recent years resumes then LSU >>>>>>>>>>WV

I am afraid you missed the point in the UGA and OU references. The point wasnt that those victories make us better now, the point was that having a weak strength of schedule hasnt affected us when we play OOC opponents, including SEC teams. Get it now?

Yup, PW and SS are gone . . . so is Saban.

HiredGun....probably another "arm-chair" QB whos never thrown a football in his life but knows it all. Im not gonna go the trash-talk way- this will be a great and exciting football game i.m.o.--and ive got great seats because my parents are W.Va. alumni....

I know what you were getting at. I am pretty sure y'all will compete Saturday. My point is you dont have to justify your team. WV is on our schedule because our program made a commitment to play better teams, as did yours. We know y'all have a good program and that's why we are excited to have y'all down. Thanks to teams like yours, LSU can say they have one of the toughest schedules in the country.

when, where and what were the scores when you played auburn? i have always liked your team and i really enjoyed the success that it has had over the last 5 years or so, but i just can't bring myself to respect it a whole lot. like in '07, i think it would have been a travesty to have ya'll in the national championship game, just not as hard a row to hoe as most bcs teams. the uga game i think was the coming out party for ya'll, but uga was extremely overconfident and that played a large part in the victory. (it was also the reason why hawaii was obliterated the following year-that could have been ya'll). I am hoping that our team is not overconfident and comes to play in earnest. if that happens, ya'll may earn some respect with some tough play, but i think we win going away. the key to the game for us will be tackling in the open field and not blowing coverages. I think Geno Smith will be a great qb in the future, but i don't know of any freshman qb ever having a good game in tiger stadium.

We beat Auburn 34-17 at mountaineer field in 2008. They beat us 30-41 at Jordan Hare last year. I think we had 6 turnovers to their 1 in that game, no kidding.

No problem with not respecting us, no one respects us, but that never seems to keep us from winning. (See Jerm?)

Sorry if you dont believe we would have been a worthy opponent for OSU in 07, oklahoma may think otherwise since we beat them 48-28 in the Fiesta Bowl. Leading up to that game most talking heads said that OU was playing the best football in the country. (See Jerm? these arguments are being forced upon me) Also, UGA was not a coming out party, we played for the National Championship back in 88 and 93. Lost both for sure (Notre Dame and Florida), but we are not Boise State and new to the national scene, lol.

Geno is not a freshman, he is a sophomore. And he is the real deal. The concern for me is not Geno, its far and away our oline.

As with most games, I predict this one will come down to what happens in the trenches. If our Oline can continue to jel we have a good shot, but if the LSU Dline dominates it will be a very long evening for us.
