If we stop Devine, we can win, but we couldn't stop Demps or the guy from Ole Piss, so I am concerned about that.

because he had flown so far to see his team get crushed.

at halftime of that game Brent Musberger said he thought LSU could beat the low end NFL teams.

If we beat NC and the other teams leading up to this game and develop some positive momentum, we will win this game handily, I would say by even 21 points or more.

If we lose NC or any of the other games and look to be slopping along like we were last year, this game becomes a tossup.

Parents went to WVU, I watched a lot of their games over the years. New QB is supposedly pretty good, more of dual threat guy and faster than Brown (who they had last year). They also still have Devine, who could have a field day if LSU is napping on D. Nobody should count this or the UNC game as an automatic "W" IMO.

I think we'll win the WVU game bc we get em at home this year, they'll be bad next year.

we have the speed to attack their spread and contain Noel Devine.

Devine is my biggest concern about this game. LSU has had trouble with this style of runner in this style of offense for a few years now.

they looked a little bit better off the snap getting to the edges at the spring game, that being said that was just the spring game

sch you should be the honorary goodwill/ambassador poster for TD, LSU people i don't think have any idea how rowdy WVU fans get

This isn't the guaranteed win that many on here are expecting. Like some posters said, when WVU's offense is clicking, it's scary; just ask Oklahoma/UGA.

Now having said that, Stewart makes Miles look like Lombardi and was a moron to get rid of so much of Rich Rod's system. They now try to pass the ball much more and are borderline a 4 WR passing team as opposed to the spread power running team they used to be.

As for this year's team, it'll be Stewart's best IMO. The two biggest keys (for me) is they return all but 1 starter on defense and 4 out of five on the OL. Devine is legit as is their little slot receiver Sanders. Also they have this safety on defense who is like 6'6, he's a legit playmaker.

If they can get productive play out of their QB (WVU fans is it gonna be Smith or White?) and replace Williams on D then they'll be quite a formidable opponent. Still think we win by 7+ but there will be some tense moments and if we don't play well we'll lose.

O and it'll be a nice challenge for our interior OL to handle their NT Neild.

It's Geno Smith's to lose...Coley White (Pats brother) will more than likely play WR when its all said and done...We've got 2 incoming freshman who are good, but will be behind Smith...

Tavon Austin is another player to watch out for...he'll take a handoff, line up in slot, return kicks, etc...he's probably the fastest on the team behind Devine...

And I can definitely see more read option with Geno Smith (like in the Rich Rod system), but hes a very good passer...Other than that, the offense isnt much different...We run more power sets (I-form, 2 TE sets, etc) and it works...FB/RB Ryan Clark will get a good amount of carries in this game...

I wouldn't question anyone who said he was actually faster than Devine.

Devine has bulked up since he hit the scene as a freshmen in order to be able to carry the load and I think he might have lost a split step. Not saying in any shape or form that he is slow but I have never seen him turn the corner and not be gone but that happened a couple times last year.

I'm mainly speaking to how fast Austin is, however, and not to Devine being slow.

Both of my parents went to WVU and my grandparents still live in WV and are big fans of the 'eers. Grandfather just turned 90 so him making it down here is highly unlikely. So next year we are going to make the trip up there. I can't wait to tiger bait him.
