I mentioned this earlier in the week with all the talk about the mismatch between AU Dline vs our Oline that Steele felt Mano vs Mano would be enough? Maybe a little too confident? I felt Lewis who looked bad because of confusion not losing one on ones. Same with Bruiser at times. Suprised Kevin’ Steele didn’t run more stunts and different blitzes.. They Didn’t bring a lot of blitzes which was why Miami and SELA gave us fits.

Yes! It’s like he didn’t even watch the Southeastern tape.

Sorta

I was even more shocked how neutralized their front 7 was. Their secondary was always questionable but the fact they got zero pressure on Burrow most the time surprised me. We picked up ever lineman and LB.

Well he knew that wasn't the real playbook so why would he?

That secondary deserves some credit though. They blanketed us all day.

It’s easy to blanket someone when you just grab them the whole time they’re trying to run routes.

he brought quite a few 5 man pressures, but it appears we simplified our protection schemes and were able to pick them up.

Honestly Miami’s front got much more pressure but Diaz is a madman.

Auburn was almost tackling our WR's every time we tried passing

For those who watched the Auburn and Washington game it was the same for them, their DB's are a major weak point and they never turn back to the ball

This. It's going to be a long year for their secondary.

Theres your blueprint for beating Auburn, rest of the league. Just keep throwing bombs and let their DBs march your offense down the field with PI calls.

He had to much confidence in his DL to get pressure on Burrow and we would only throw 15 times the whole game on third down. He figured with his defense we would be in 3rd and long most of the game. Thinking even with a little pressure that Burrow would not be accurate with his throws. After our first series of the game his game plan was out the window and just like when he was at LSU he didn't make any adjustments.

I talked to my Auburn friends after the game and we all agreed that Steele went soft. They pressured Burrow before halftime and rattled our attack. Then we they got a lead they shut it down. Terrible coaching.
