quote:I think if you look at the careening up and down of W/L years, the higher high's in the W games, and the Lower Low's in the losing games, is what I mean. Miles path is like a roller coaster ride, where you eventually get to the end ok but throw up 3 times along the way, while Sabans appears to be more of a sustained fun ride where you enjoy it but don't get sick along the way.
You realize LSU is going on 8 years with Miles and he continues to win at an elite level and poised to make another run at the title this season with talent stocked for years to come? I fail to see what the "long haul" means to you
It's more of a relative observation of emotion than it is a judgement of the W/L column. That's not really the way I judge football. We all have different ways of looking at it, that's mine.

What I am saying is that the fans on this board are making up every excuse and conspiracy theory possible for the loss on 1/9/12. The truth is Bama was the more talented team in 11. 12 will be a different story.
the truth that many refuse to accept.

But go ahead and keep waiting for failure.
quote:I don't want anyone at LSU to fail, I'm just making an observation.
You have been so anti miles that you almost need him to fail so you can prove yourself right.
quote:I enjoy it immensely, spends tons of money on tickets and merchandise, and wear it proudly in the middle of enemy territory.
It isn't happening so you might want to enjoy the ride we are on and te golden age of lsu football.
Your unhealthy obsession with my every post and thought really borders on pathological. It's like your damn determined to try to not allow anyone to have a thought about LSU football but yourself. You do realize this is an open forum and people have differing opinions, don't you?

Get over yourself. I'm just calling out your bullshite and irrational view on lsu football.

Oh I know what a forum is. I also know that your opinions that you are sharing are nonsensical. So you also shouldn't get offended that you get called out for it.
It is laughable to say that Miles way of winning isn't sustainable even though he is the winningest coach lsu ever had. Seriously, step back and think about what you are saying. You act as if lsu shouldn't lose a game ever. You have some kind of ridiculous unattainable standard for miles that no one holds for any other coach. You need to get some perspective on where lsu is right now in comparison to other programs in college football. Lsu is a powerhouse with no signs of slowing down. That's all I'm saying. Perspective.
I'm not following you. It is just a discussion.

So you also shouldn't get offended that you get called out for it.
quote:Perspective indeed. You should get some while you beat everyone else over the head who you don't think has the same perspective as you. It's true that perspective has changed since LSU has had a winning program. It's also true that Miles has been coach of the program for most of that time. It's also true that he has taken us on some of the lowest lows and embarrassing losses we've ever had, while simultaenously giving us some great highs and wins along the way.
That's all I'm saying. Perspective.
quote:Yes you are.

quote:For you it's not a discussion. It's about trying to win every argument about Les Miles that appears on this forum. You have an unhealthy obsession with it, as if somehow your defense of Les Miles is a) going to make a difference in the world or change someones life or opinion, or b) give you some great kudos or winning points on a message board that allows you to 'rule' the discussion.
It is just a discussion.
Get over yourself, dude, you aren't that important.

How is 11, 11, 12, 8, 9, 11, and 13 seen as "careening up and down", but 8, 13, and 9, NS's last 3 seasons here, are seen as "sustained"?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is a small percentage of this fanbase that will never be happy with Les Miles, no matter what.
"We don't have good QB Play, what is wrong with Miles"
"We're not winning games by enough points, what is wrong with Miles"
"We're not winning games with good offense what is wrong with Miles"
And for this season we will hear..
"Why didn't Mettenberger play last year? What is wrong with Miles"
Unfortuantley they have been brainwashed by fellow SEC fans and other news media around the country that have subscribed to this ridiculous notion that recruiting and winning at LSU is a piece of cake, and with a competent coach LSU would win every game by 60 points or more. The fact is Miles is maintaining LSU at an elite level in the toughest conference in college football. What more do you want from him?

This!

If so, not by much. We beat them at their house, and then were still in the NC late in the game with the worst game plan I've ever seen. With a better plan we could've beat them again. I'd say the teams were equally talented. After all, they were 1-1 against each other.
